Terrific Romantic Adventure

Victoria Holt has such a gift for telling a story with style. This was like three books in one, with so many separate narratives which came together in the end. The section with Australia was so real, the descriptions made me feel like I was really there. The characters were very interesting and engaging. The narration was really nice as well. It’s a long story, but do keep listening, it all does come together pretty well in the end. Even still, I was left with a few unanswered questions though. I guess that gives a better sense of mystery to the story, with more still waiting to be discovered. Enjoy!

Enjoyed it from beginning to end!

Absolutely enjoyed everything about the storyline and performance. How I wish audible had all of her books and not just in swedish.

Okay, I guess…

Although somewhat predictable, the premise of the story was interesting, for lack of a better word. If you like to read about overwhelming revenge and greed, this book would be to your liking. At times it was a bit redundant in characters, action, and dialogue. Most of the characters were incredibly weak-willed and unlikeable. It became a bit tedious and I found my mind wandering, but able to tune back in and still follow the storyline. The narration was okay. However, sometimes, particularly in dialogue, it was hard to distinguish between characters. The quality of the recording was quite poor. Throughout the entire audio book, there was a white noise in the background. I didn’t absolutely hate the book, but I was glad when it finally ended.

A Great Romance

Excellent narration! I love the mounting plots and surprising happy ending. The suspense and mystery was truly spellbound.

Love to travel with her characters

I have read so many of her books over the years. They never disappoint. Exotic locations for the armchair traveler. I always enjoy the plots and characters!

a bit tedious

This story was tedious until the last couple chapters & narrator needed more spark. I was expecting a lot more from Victoria Holt as I remembered my sister's reading them. The characters were a bit frustrating with their obsession over the Lynx who was built up to be a bit unbelievable. The last few chapters finally redeemed the hours of tedious life revolving around one man.

Oldie but good

I loved Victoria Holt novels as a teenager, and this was one of my favorites. The audible version is perfection. Lovely narration does justice to this wonderful romantic novel.

not her best book

The narrator was excellent, but the story dragged and the plot twists seemed contrived., cheesy, and ridiculous. I missed Holt's usual lyrical prose. Kind of sorry I spent my credit on this title as I will never listen to it again.

Definitely worth your money and attention

I have to admit that I wasn't sure who the culprit(s) were in this story or where it was going. It was a very good mystery and an interesting story. I enjoyed it.

Required heading

I enjoy all of Victoria Holt's books. Leishman's
Voice is perfect for this Story. I'm must say, though requiring 15 words for a review Is very off putting I will not review a book again.
