Career Women then & now

Great depiction of the role of women in the forties-sixties. I'm not sure why, but I didn't find these characters as well-developed as they are in Hore's earlier novels. Hence I found it harder to engage. Perhaps trying to be complete in both the parallel plot lines didn't allow for more character development for fear of making the book too long. Personally, I'd have loved a few more hours spent with Nancy, Steph, Aaron and Libby, his daughter.
