Publisher's summary

The inspiring journey of The Celestine Prophecy and The Tenth Insight continues, carrying us to a new adventure and new spiritual truths that are now emerging in human awareness. In the remote snow-covered mountains near Tibet lies a community long thought to be a mere myth called Shambhala, or Shangri-La. Here, in this space, is knowledge that has been kept hidden for centuries - and an insight that can have profound impact on the way each of us lives our lives. Your search for Shambhala begins with the words of a child and the vision of an old friend. Those slender clues and a powerful synchronicity will lead to Kathmandu, Nepal, and then to Lhasa, Tibet. You will pass through regions where anger and compassion struggle for ascendancy, and arrive at a place where the stunning reality about human prayer-energy is about to be revealed.

Worst sound quality possible - don't bother

How could the performance have been better?

The sound quality on this recording is so completely terrible that it has shaken my faith in audible.com's reputation for providing a quality audio experience. DO NOT order this title - it should be trashed from audible's selection.

Any additional comments?

Awful sound

It feels like you’re listening to an old cassette tape of 30 years ago. Inacceptable.
I would leave zero star if possible.

Inspiring

The Journey from Celestine Prophecy The 10th Insight( Wish it was in Audio but totally worth the read), The Secrets of Shambala to the 12th Insight is nothing short of Life Changing .
It explains Why we are here and who we are through a wonderful Journey/Story ,and so much more .Explained in a fashion you can't help but absorb each and every Explanation/meaning.
It has forever changed me into the person I had met many times thoughout my life but in only brief glimpes, Now I can be.... Just ..Me

Thank you James Redfield for sharing this so beautifully..My eyes are forever open now.

Sorry Audible but such a wonderful book should have been made with better sound quality .
My only complaint..

Wake Up

I have read 2 other titles by James Redfield. This one may seem the same but it actually picks up where the Eleventh Insight left off. He tells a story but at the same time, he is giving you information that is very beneficial. I recommend his books if you are looking for a path towards spirituality. The only thing I did not like is the quality of the audio, its a little scratchy. Other than that, it is a book worth listening to and reading. I will probably still buy the book so that I can outline some things that are good to remember and included in my daily life.

BertFilm on Secret of Shambhala

A well fitted sequel to Celestine Prophesy. The writing style, and character development extends the idea of an improved "world view" based on the mentality of being in the NOW by completely participating in the experience, catalyzed by a positive attitude toward change of intention. James Redfield stylizes himself with "fight or flight" and "hunting and pursuing" that inspires the reader to try "power of mind" which arises from those lightning-like breakthroughs, emerging from a deep intuitive certitude.
Overall a wonderful audio-experience that leaves one feeling better and looking at the world in a more positive light!

Bad sound

I liked the story, but the sound quality was very bad. Audible should make a new version of the book. My advice is to listen to a sample of this book before you buy and pay.

Very Entertaining

Great sequal to Celestine Prophesy the story continues and takes the reader to the next level. Gives the listener a lot to consider. Very interesting.

Great Story Great Performance, Disappointing Audio

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

LeVar Burton's performance in this sequel is on par with Lou Diamond Phillip's reading of the original Celestine Prophecy. This audiobook is unfortunately let down by lower quality audio. I cringed at the background music when each chapter title was read.

But it is a sufficiently engaging story and reading, to put that out of your mind after a while.

Enjoyable

I love James Redfield's books... I've read most of them and thought this would be good company for me while I painted in my studio. The plot is a typical one for Redfield; I found the subject matter to be very interesting and I learned some new things. The narrator did a pretty good job with the various voices, especially the Tibetan ones, but the protagonist's voice was sometimes annoying. My only real complaint is that the overall quality of the recording was a bit garbled. I had to turn the volume way up to hear it, and even then it wasn't always clear.
