An unputdownable, addictive psychological thriller packed with jaw-dropping twists

The moment I meet Anna at number 7, I immediately like her. But her husband is staring at me with a strange expression on his face. It sends a shiver down my spine. And then a few days later, Anna is gone…

The second I see the moving van, I rush outside. My husband tells me to give our new neighbours space, but I need to know who they are.

When I see Anna, I’m in awe. Despite the chaos of boxes, she is glamorous, with perfect hair and elegant clothes. But her husband, Fraser, makes me nervous. I can’t explain it, but I don’t trust him.

And when my doorbell camera detects movement in the night, I’m instantly awake. Our road is usually deathly quiet. As I watch, I see Fraser lifting a large bag into his car. And now, Anna has disappeared.

Fraser tells everyone she’s away visiting family, but Anna told me she didn’t have any, it’s why she wanted to make friends here. Then I remember the bruises I saw on her arms…

I am convinced Fraser killed his wife.

The police dismiss me, and my husband tells me to leave it, but I can’t. I have to know what happened to her. But when I uncover the secret hidden inside number 7, the truth is more dangerous than I ever imagined. And now I’m not sure I will make it out alive…

A gripping thriller that will leave you on the edge of your seat. Packed with twists, this psychological thriller is perfect for fans of Freida McFadden’s The Housemaid, The Girl on the Train and Colleen Hoover’s Verity.

Great story and great performance! It moved quickly and the characters were easy to follow.

Didn’t see that coming!

The storyline was good, with unpredictable twists and turns. I enjoy the storytellers. They read with expression that I thoroughly enjoy. I have now listened to all of the author’s books and I am ready for the next one. While I did enjoy this book, my favorite is The Woman in the Cabin because its storyline is completely different from any I have ever read.

Another great book by Becca Day

This book took a perverted and quite disturbing turn. Anna was psychotic and predatory. The plot may be triggering.

Becca Day's “The Secret at Number 7” is an audictive psychological thriller that had me hooked from the very start. Narrators Daphne Kouma and Melanie Crowley are perfectly paired and complement each other. Their presentation is engaging, and their chemistry is undeniable. Characters are brought to life with precision and flair. The story follows a new neighbor who becomes obsessed with uncovering the truth about Anna and her husband Fraser. She uncovers a web of secrets and lies that lead her to suspect Fraser of murder. But nothing is as it seems, and the truth is more complex and sinister than she ever imagined. Anna disappears, and Fraser's suspicious behavior raises red flags. As she digs deeper, she uncovers a dark secret hidden. “The Secret at Number 7" is a gripping listen packed with shocking surprises I never saw coming. Day's writing is exquisite, keeping me invested from start to finish. The characters are well-developed, and the plot is expertly woven. Highly recommended? Indeed!

I loved the way it consistently made you think she was crazy or psychotic but that her husband didn’t believe her was disappointing

The big twist at the end
