Publisher's Summary

When Mary Lennox was sent to Misselthwaite Manor to live with her uncle, everybody said she was the most disagreeable-looking child ever seen. This self-centered orphan and her pampered, invalid cousin Colin Craven, both deprived of love and attention, find themselves becoming friends. Together, they learn compassion and generosity within the walls of an abandoned magical garden. Renowned actress Julie Christie brings out the magic of this children's classic.

Wonderful performance of a charming classic!

This vocal performance is fantastic. I was so easily absorbed in the characters, in part due to the delightful portrayals. She can go from a silly, booming voice to a comforting, soothing one in a flash. Truly a remarkable performance.

As for the classic itself, it is so heartwarming. The development of Mary and Colin, as well as the vivid imagery, are engrossing. The story is well-paced and uplifting. Great themes that can pull in children and adults alike— a quality too rare in literature. Overall an enjoyable classic with a one-in-a-million performance.
