"Tom Clancy Lives In The Form of Ted Halstead- Since Tom Clancy was my favorite author and passed it is a total pleasure to read Ted's writings. Thank you, Ted. I look forward very much to reading the next two volumes."
"Excellent, Plausible, Well Thought Through, No Extraneous Filler. Highly Recommend- Excellent writer in the style of Clancy. Looking forward to other books by this author. Story is well thought out, plausible, and keeps one's interest throughout. I'm an avid reader of this genre, and I very much like this. No filler - just carefully joined chapters that keep up the pace."
"Halstead Channels Clancy- Different story, but reminiscent of Red October. Fast-paced, disturbingly possible. Engrossing. Even has bad guys who are good guys, but not stereotypical. Best to start on a Friday with no weekend plans."
“A New Voice In The Thriller World- This book was like Tom Clancy reincarnated. Ted Halstead really knows how to write a thriller. Can't wait for more!"
"Great and Not What I Expected- With the title above, I expected a military novel like “Red Phoenix”. What I got instead was a fast-paced, interesting detective story with some military components and a lot of action. The author has numerous characters that come to life, both good guys and bad guys. Different locales from North and South Korea, Russia, Los Angeles and over, on and below the ocean. Defectors, detectives, spies, and many more. Nuclear weapons, submarines, fighter aircraft, aircraft carriers, tanks, and more. It may seem like there’s too many story threads, but there’s not. I have read thousands (honest!) of thrillers and military novels, and I can say that this one is almost as good as W.E.B. Griffin’s original work and much better than his son’s current novels. Highly Recommended."
Kim Jong Eun is dead. The North Korean military is now in charge. Their new military dictator, Marshal Ko, believes that with an all-out invasion they can reach Seoul, just 35 miles away.
Ko thinks a stolen portable Russian nuclear weapon hidden in LA, and guarded by North Korean special forces soldier Chung Hee Moon, will keep the Americans out of the war. But what if Ko is wrong - and what about Russia, China, and Japan?
Two Russians have been sent to retrieve the weapon: FSB Colonel Alexei Vasilyev and senior Vladivostok homicide detective Anatoly Grishkov. Neither has much faith in the regime they serve.
But both agree that the weapon must be found before it’s detonated and its fallout signature is traced back to Russia. And starts WWIII.
Another nuclear weapon nears Seoul in a tunnel built by the North Koreans. Prisoner Lee Ho Suk has been working in such tunnels so long that his nickname is “Lost Bet” from the guards wagering on a date of death that somehow has refused to come. Could Lee find a way to beat the odds yet again?
And what if Shin Yon Young, South Korea’s sole spy in Pyongyang, learns about the tunnel before the weapon reaches Seoul?
No matter which side wins, the end of the Second Korean War will decide whether Seoul or Pyongyang becomes the new capital of a united Korea.
