reads like a cheap romance novel.

conversations are stilted and stiff like the author was fully utilizing his thesaurus, though the cadence might have been the reader.
The concept of the story had potential but I couldn't make it past a few hours listening.

I don't often have many poor reviews of books, this obe however was almost in the that pile.
At first I couldn't handle the narration. it was oddly intoned and delivered. The voices were just weird although credit for doing and maintaing the different characters. I did get used to it but did not care for it.
I almost didn't even nother to listen to this book. I though the writing was very poor and immature. The character building was groan worthy and the dialog made me wince. I fully admit that I often found myself shaking my head thinking this is bad......
However, I always give give a chance and I'm glad I did. Although I still think there were some many bits that were just... not good, I ended up really liking the story. It was really fun. The plot was well put together and fun. I wanted so much to just not like this but in the end I was hooked. I won't admit it though. Certainly not in a posted review....

Nope

I was given this book for free from audiobook boom and asked to leave an unbiased review for the author and narrator.
I couldn't finish listening to this book. Between the boring narrator just reading the book to you, and the complete change of pace I just lost interest. It starts out with the Christian end of times, then turns to the future where there's fallen angels, vampires, a sorceress, ghouls blah blah. Now I'm all about supernatural stories, but the whole jumping the tracks and going a completely different way, jumping back and forth I just couldn't stay with it especially with the boring narrator. The beginning of a book is what grabs the listener and then a bit of explanation of how events came about, as in all of a sudden people have magic. I may have kept listening, but it seemed to me that the author took a few story lines and tried to meld them together and was unsuccessful with it.
