Publisher's summary

The Seal of Confession is the latest breathtaking espionage thriller from the author of Selling St. Christopher.

Clemmie, a life-worn shadow operator for the British Secret Service, is accompanied by her team of young misfits, as they investigate the murder of a Russian Orthodox priest in London. However, their mission is anything but routine, and they are soon contending with a riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma. Combining insider knowledge, with a flair for dynamic storytelling, The Seal of Confession is a startling insight into the sinister world of psychological operations, and the grey zone war that is currently being fought along Russia's southwestern border. Strong Characters and Better than James Bond

Clemmie is an experienced shadow operator for the British Secret Service. Clemmie and her team find themselves in the midst of a conspiracy theory that just may prove to not only be true but have deadly consequences. There is no one they can truly trust, no one!

Sven Hughes, the author, weaves a complex and revealing story of betrayal, espionage, mystery, and psychological power. Hughes keeps the story flowing smoothly and while descriptive he does not waste words. The plot twists are unique and well-executed. His character development is impressive and complete. I enjoyed the fact that the main character is female. She projected herself as strong and intelligent but not overwhelmingly so. I found myself tensing up and then breathing a sign of relief multiple times. This is a well-crafted book filled with adventure and action-filled moments.

The narrator, Lucy Scott delivers a fine performance. Projecting the appropriate emotional response of the characters and situations. She kept the story moving forward and spoke clearly. Her cadence was steady and kept the energy going strong throughout.

Overall, this is an excellent spy novel filled with plot twists and exhilarating suspense!
