Publisher's summary

In 1944, American naval officer Lt. Wyatt Paxton arrives in London to prepare for the Allied invasion of France. He works closely with Dorothy Fairfax, a "Wren" in the Women's Royal Naval Service. Dorothy pieces together reconnaissance photographs with thousands of holiday snapshots of France - including those of her own family's summer home - in order to create accurate maps of Normandy. Maps that Wyatt will turn into naval bombardment plans.

As the two spend concentrated time together in the pressure cooker of war, their deepening friendship threatens to turn to love. Dorothy must resist its pull. Her bereaved father depends on her, and her heart already belongs to another man. Wyatt too has much to lose. The closer he gets to Dorothy, the more he fears his efforts to win the war will destroy everything she has ever loved. The tense days leading up to the monumental D-Day landing blaze to life under Sarah Sundin's practiced pen with this powerful new series.

SOOO GOOD!!!

I wish I could give this one 6 stars! The characters are so real and their problems and growth natural. Narration superb with excellent Scottish and British accents and a pretty fair Texas drawl as well. One of the best audio books ever. I’m going to look for more Sarah Sundin books immediately!

Really well done historical romantic novel

Sarah Sundin effectively captures the readers imagination end emotions, and you live with the characters through the events she is writing about. I also really like that she chooses characters in relatively obscure roles and you learn very interesting information about WWII that you would not be found in regular history books,

My Musings

I adored this book and the intricacies of the characters. Unlike another reviewer, I did not find this preachy at all. That aspect if the book was sincere and fulfilling. I am so glad I found this one in the Audible Plus program. A very happy reader and listening!

Another solid story.

Fulfilling. Enriching. You will walk away from this with deep reflection upon your own life journey. Reconciliation is a large theme in this trilogy, as well as forgiveness. It is such a comfort to listen to characters who grapple with human challenges remain (or return) to God for help. He IS always the answer. You will love this book!

The accents throughout this narration were wonderful and believable!

WWII, romance, and God

Nicely written World War II era. It’s set up very well in the beginning to be a trilogy and you can’t wait to find out if the brothers forgive him.
It’s a nice book about finding your faith and true love
