Publisher's summary

Perhaps the world’s leading expert on forgiveness research, Everett Worthington distills decades of wisdom into 15 life-changing lectures. The author or editor of more than 38 books on marriage, family, and forgiveness, Prof. Worthington received the Humanitarian Award from the Association for Spiritual, Ethical, and Religious Values in Counseling. Now you can learn to practice his groundbreaking REACH Forgiveness model through these 15 engaging lectures.

At first glance, statements of forgiveness such as “Love your enemies” (Matthew 5:44) may seem paradoxical. But in recent decades, scientists have picked up where philosophers and theologians left off - confirming the many benefits that practicing forgiveness will bring you.

Studies show that the consistent practice of forgiveness reaps rewards to your physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. On a larger scale, forgiveness is a central pillar in promoting peace among groups, organizations, and societies.

Drawing on his decades of experience in couples counseling and his prolific research on forgiveness, Prof. Worthington guides you in how to practice forgiveness. As Stephen Post, Ph.D., of Stony Brook University School of Medicine says, “Ev speaks from the heart and soul and mind with a special passion for what forgiveness brings to our lives. He has uplifted a generation.”

Through this masterful course, you will acquire the tools to think both philosophically and practically about forgiveness. You’ll find that the scientific approach to forgiveness will indelibly enrich your life and relationships.

This course is part of the Learn25 collection.

Found treasure, will keep it. 🙏🏼

For over 3 years now I’ve been dealing with a co-worker who has been vengeful with me in a passive aggressive manner. This has hurt me and created bad feelings which had only brought more hurt. I had apologized to this person even thought I am not exactly sure of the reason but the situation worsens. This book has helped understand forgiveness is a choice that you can give yourself and others. I feel relieved and free of bad feelings. Thanks to this beautiful book. I will listen again and again to remind myself of the lessons of forgiveness. Thanks to the author.

Love this - great material here

On my 2nd time through this Audible. I have been going through his book, Handbook of Forgiveness 2nd Edition, in detail over the last few months. For those wanting to learn the Science of Forgiveness...I strongly recommend both, but this Audible will be easier for you to follow and learn for the everyday promoter of forgiveness or one looking for assistance.

good course but with a strong Christian bias

The course IS good.
The delivery somewhat failed to meet my full expectations.
Be wary of the strong Christian bias in this course.
LEARN25 audio courses tend to be slanted in the direction of religiosity, which may be fine.
This course is very heavily influenced by Christianity.

Deep and thought provoking

Everett Worthington has spent his life researching forgiveness. He also applied the wisdom that he learned from his research, by finding forgiveness in his own heart after his mother was murdered. This is a series of lectures read by the author, summarizing what we know about forgiveness. Very thorough, and also moving at times.

Wonderful

Phenomenal study on forgiveness. I loved that it was both informational and applicable. I will come back to this resource often and refer it to many.
