Story
He’s as handsome as I remember: broad shoulders, piercing blue eyes, hair the color of burnt toffee. The man who once meant the world to me. The reason I fled 11 years ago. I’ve never told anyone the terrible mistake I made that night. The secret we share. I’m still haunted by the crashing waves at the bottom of the cliffs, the blood.... But what is he doing at my sister’s house?

Story
Daniel is everything I ever dreamed of. A handsome, successful doctor who truly swept me off my feet. I can’t wait to get back from our honeymoon and begin our new lives together. Except, rather than taking us back to our flat, Daniel announces we are moving to a new house in a different city. And when we arrive, the house is fully furnished, with plates in the cupboard, pictures on the walls and new clothes in my closet. It’s like someone already lives here. It seems a bit strange. But I know Daniel is just trying to make sure our new life is perfect, right from the start.

Story
It happened the day of the Moon Festival. It could have been left behind, they all could have moved on with their lives. But secrets have a habit of rising to the surface, especially in small towns. Two couples, four ironclad friendships, the perfect coastal holiday town. With salt-stung houses perched like lifeguards overlooking the shore, Lago Point is the scene of postcards, not crime scenes. Wife and mother Abbi, town cop Blake, schoolteacher Hannah and local doctor Will are caught in their own tangled webs of deceit.

Karla watches silently as Jason hurriedly packs his belongings into a suitcase. She knows that her stillness is unnerving him as she watches his every move from the doorway of their bedroom. "I’ve fallen in love with someone else", he’d said to her, just moments earlier. The brutality of those words hit Karla hard and she struggled to breathe as she took in each word in turn. You may think you know what Karla will do next. But you’ll be wrong. Because Karla isn't who you think she is. Only she knows what's about to happen. And you will never see it coming.

And he has all the power. To outsiders, it seems that she leads a fairy-tale life. But nobody ever wonders if Cinderella was happy after she married the prince. Marlena has traded freedom and safety for luxurious imprisonment, and most days, that seems like a bad bargain. Death may be the only exit she's allowed. Just like his first wife. And his second. Publisher's Summary
A secret child will tear a small town apart.
Marisa is the town busybody in the affluent suburb of Gledhill in the Hamptons. She gave up everything to be Mrs. Avery Thurston, and now that her twin girls have left home her life lacks a purpose; coffee and gossip with her best friends Elly and Claire are all she has left.
When Jodi, a vulnerable, pregnant girl turns up on her doorstep, Marisa is quick to act: abandoning hosting duties at the fancy party she’s throwing to come to the young girl’s aid. Marisa realises that this helpless girl might be the answer to her prayers, and Jodi might need someone to care for her baby.
But Jodi isn’t just an innocent young girl. The father of her unborn child is someone the women know very well.
Rather than solving Marisa’s problems, Jodi’s arrival is about to break her life apart....
The Scandal has a twist that will take your breath away. An emotionally charged novel about secrets, affairs, and perfect small towns that will be devoured by fans of Kerry Fisher, Big Little Lies, and The Other Woman.

Worth the credit
It was good. Not the best book I’ve listened to, but it was good. I think It may have been better if I had read it. The narration was a little whiny, which is what I’m sure was was going for, but it turned me off a little. Overall the story was good and kept me hooked; I stayed up until 2:00am to finish and usually only listen on my commute.

Good insight into the lives of rich people
This book held my interest due to two major issues. Who is the father? Who killed the mother? There were several twists and turns in the plot. The ending is completely unexpected. It is an okay book. Easy fun listening in that it does not require a lot analysis or thinking. The narrator mispronounced several words. It was a distraction in that the mispronunciation caused me to think about the mispronounced word instead of listening to the story.

OK if you can look past narration
The storyline was okay, not great. The narrator's voice is incredibly whiny for every single character - meant to be snooty, I guess? I would have to listen to excerpts multiple times because I would lose focus on the story just thinking of whether or not I could continue listening to the whiny voice. The pronunciation of some words was like nails on a chalkboard. Who says bah-sil for basil and en-visage for envision? If you can get past the horrid narration, it's okay. However, I would not recommend - too many other good options with better narration.

When setting a Story in America, please use American slang
I liked the overall story. However, what made most of it so unbelievable is the use of so much British slang in an American setting by Americans. The details like the author not comprehending how the American justice and medical systems work make it even more difficult. The premise is good, but she would have done better yo set her story in England among the British upper class.
