In the late 90's, a mysterious virus, dubbed the Apocalypse Virus, wiped out nearly half of the human population and all mammalian wildlife. Two years after the virus disappeared as suddenly as it arrived, Dinosaurs began to emerge out of the deepest wildernesses of the Earth. In the year 2020, Josiah and Adeniji are members of the paramilitary order, The Saurian Rangers, a modern-day Knights Templar. While assisting the newly built Ranger outpost in northeastern Nigeria, a chance encounter with a dinosaur may finally bring about the answers to the tragedies that occurred over 20 years ago.

The AI voice didn't let me finish this. This book has promise, maybe I'll read it on kindle or something. Couldn't listen to that AI voice any more.

I finished the book mainly on account of the dinosaur content but the exposition of the story was not particularly convincing. It seems that the prehistory and ending were conceived first with the balance of the story constructed to interconnect these in a way to permit the inclusion of human versus dinosaur battles and political intrigue. The physical abilities of dinosaurs were cast in excess of what could be expected, with most of the action scenes seeming quite implausible. The behaviors and choices of many of the characters and the implied political structures were also not believable, especially those details apparently constructed to match the apparently preconceived prehistory and story resolution. I thought the virtual voicing worked reasonably well.

I liked the dinosuar content but...
