Story
Bish is the land of constant strife and turmoil. The rise and fall of the blazing suns make the days long and the people disagreeable. Its barren Outlands are as comforting as a bed of thorns as there is little sanctuary to be found in the sweltering forests or the dank caves below the ground. Its caviling cities are overrun with death, greed, and corruption, but few complain. It is a place where tempers flare and alliances last as long as a tankard of ale. A place where good doesn't thrive, it endures.

Publisher's Summary
Two worlds divided by a door.
On the war-ravaged demon world of Eriis, Hellne, the fierce young queen, fights to keep her people alive...
On the green and gentle human world of Mistra, the demons have faded into myth. Only a handful of old men and children still guard The Door between the worlds...
Rhuun, the Prince of Eriis, uncovers a forgotten book written by a human, sparking an obsession with the other world. When he is forced to flee Eriis, he must escape through The Door or pay the price in blood.
The humans of Mistra are not what Rhuun was expecting - and one insufferable young woman in particular is about to find out that the demons of Eriis are not mythological after all...
In Kim Alexander's debut novel, she weaves a witty, epic fantasy brimming with diverse characters and plenty of intrigue.

Like Sands through the Hourglass. . .
It is so cliche to say that a book is a rolloercoaster of any type. But, geez, this book is a rollercoaster of emotions, you will go from horror to elation, from heartbreak back to joy, and in the end you will be left unsure of how you can feel so much for fictional characters. It is a rollercoaster of action, going from idle thoughtful moments to scenes of such deadly pace you will findyour heartracing as if you were the one fighting.
The book really creates a new world(s) that will captive your mind. It is fantastical and mesmerizing, and most of fun. You will be glad that you came and stayed a bit. You will be sorry that it ended, and you will anticipate when you can go home again. Turbett takes Alexander's story and really elevates the material to new places that the written word cannot go. Theypair well, like a fine wine and some good cheese. This is a great introduction to a wonderful new setting with characters you will carry with you well after you have finished the book.
Get it, listen, and love it.

Interesting read
What did you love best about The Sand Prince?
It's not your average fantasy book, this is a title that creates it's own idea of the genre of fantasy.
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Sand Prince?
The main protagonist's journey is very memorable. Who hasn't felt like an outsider/under dog at times?
What does William Turbett bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
It feels like he is having fun narrating the book, and is very capable of expressing the numerous characters as they come and go.
Any additional comments?
I recommend it, the author and narrator help paint an expanded idea on the genre of Fantasy Fiction.

The Sand Prince
What disappointed you about The Sand Prince?
Frustrating at times.
A good Fantasy book needs a good backstory, the author needs to build a world I can get sucked into and believe in.
In this book, I wasn't interested in the world and thus in the heroes.
The book needed to be fast paced, with less unnecessary details.
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
Disappointment.
