Publisher's summary

Three complete novels in the Sam Reilly action and adventure series!

Rogue Wave

The offer - $20 billion split between four leading scientists on alternative energies to purchase and then squash their research lines, which include the recent discovery of a powerful new energy source capable of replacing mankind’s reliance on fossil fuels.

There’s no doubt their discovery is worth 10 times that much. But will any one of them live if they refuse?

At the same time, the greatest technological advancement in warfare since the creation of the atomic bomb has been discovered and is being offered to the highest bidder.

There is just one problem, though: The seller might no longer have any control of the weapon.

Can Sam Reilly weave his way through the web of industrial and political espionage before the human race loses its greatest fight for survival?

The Cassidy Project

In the middle of the Pacific Ocean in 1962, at the height of the Cold War, the US military experimented with electromagnetic pulses created by detonating high-atmosphere nuclear bombs. The project was code-named Starfish Prime. The primary objective was to develop the ability to produce an EMP with enough force to knock out an entire nation’s communications, rendering a retaliatory attack impossible.

The secondary objective, along with its consequences, was deemed too important to national security to ever be released.

In 1983 an American B-52 nuclear bomber goes missing somewhere near the Bering Strait while delivering a secret cargo at the express order of President Ronald Reagan to an unmapped island. Present day, in the Weddell Sea off the coast of Antarctica, a woman wakes up on a cruise ship to discover she’s the only person left aboard, despite no apparent fault with the ship.

Sam Reilly, already on a rescue mission to Antarctica to save five French scientists, may be the only person standing in the way of the completion of The Cassidy Project.

I just couldn't get into it

In full disclosure, I only got halfway through book one. I just couldn't get into the story or characters. The story seemed slow getting to the point and some of the characters' voices reminded me of muppets. Once that thought was in my head I couldn't get past it. Maybe I'll go back and listen to them.

Quickly becoming one of my favorite series

Christopher Cartwright writes an excellent story. The entire series has been a HUGE adventure filled with action. I enjoy the way Cartwright creates puzzles and problems that need to be solved and the adventure Sam Reilly and his team have to solve the problems or puzzles, evade the bad guys to survive and finally get the solution to save their lives. David Gilmore does and excellent job in narrating the series.

THREE MORE GREAT SAM REILLY BOOKS!

I read, well listened to, the first three books and loved them, and well I loved these too! Great stories and love the characters, and the narration brings all those great characters to life. Love the adventure! You can't beat the value, and they're great stories, win win! :) Looking forward to reading/listening to more!

Just as awesome as the first!

Sam Reilley is a wealthy marine biologist that, with his friend and co-worker Tom, goes on hunts for various mythological items. He goes on several adventures, with each story detailing one or more treasures to be found. Finding the treasures often involve dangerous trials, including battling with the “bad guys”, and saving the world from destruction.

Volume 2 of the Sam Reilley Collection contains the following stories:

Rogue Wave (Sam Reilly Book 4)
When one of Sam’s friends dies under suspicious circumstances, he must unravel the truth about the weapon he was working on before it gets into the wrong hands. I loved learning about the waves and weapon facts in this one. It was really good!

The Cassidy Project (Sam Reilly Book 5)
Sam is on his way you save five scientists in Antarctica, when he gets involved in the hunt for top secret and deadly military weapons and a woman who was the last survivor on a cruise ship. Good relationship development and plot twists in this one!

The Nostradamus Equation (Sam Reilly Book 6)
Sam goes on the hunt for the book of Nostradamus and meets some very unique and interesting people on the way. An amazing and entertaining read, one of my favourites so far!

The stories are packed with descriptive scenes, life threatening situations, fast paced action and archaeological treasure hunting. They are cleverly unraveled to keep the listener excited and intrigued throughout, not to mention to hear the next stories in the series. The genre reminds me of Indiana Jones, James Bond and the like. Not only are they filled with action and adventure, I feel that I was also educated by them. There are so many fascinating facts coming through about various mythological things, some of which I had heard of and learned more about, and some that I hadn’t heard of before and learned all about in the books. The stories are well written with cleverly built up plots and characters, including twists and turns throughout. They follow a series with ongoing relationships and themes, but with a new adventure each time. Sometimes other stories are mentioned in other books that elude to future upcoming adventures, or previously completed adventures. The series is absolutely addictive and interesting and I cannot wait to hear the next ones!

David narrated expertly. With excellent intonation for various characters and energy and passion throughout the series. He was a perfect fit for what I believe the stories’ perspectives to sound like. There were also some interesting audio elements coming through like hearing two people speak at the same time and hearing people speak through voice scramblers. Overall, the performance was masterful and absolutely added to my enjoyment thereof.

I highly recommend this series. Be warned though, once you start you may not be able to stop!

This is a set of unrelated, good stories.

This is my first exposure to books in the Sam Reilly series and author Christopher Cartwright. I was given the opportunity to request this series in order to review it. It reminded me a lot of the Dirk Pitt series, which is not a bad thing.

For me, these types of books are what you read when you want a little break from reality and just want to be entertained. Overall, I did enjoy the series. Even though it is a three book series, you should be aware that they are not a trilogy but, rather, a collection of three stand-alone books packaged together.

The narration was solid with one small annoyance; one of the characters is of French origin but, to me, the accent sounded German.

enjoyed these adventure novels. Cartwright is a very specific and detailed writer whom helps you be right in the action at all times. The book feels good, the narration is excellent. Sam Reilly is a solid character who is lucky and smart. I enjoyed the books and recommend them to all who enjoy action adventure. I have received the books as a promotion and give my review freely and honestly.

Wonderful!!

This series keeps getting better and better! The author blends history and legend, with sci-fi and adventure masterfully. Sam Reilly is the new Indiana Jones! He investigates ancient mystery’s that tie into modern events and concerns. Full of mystery, action and adventure! The narration is well done. I would highly recommend this series, but definitely start at the beginning to get the full story. I can’t wait to listen to the rest of the series.

I have received a free copy of this book in exchange for an unbiased review.

A Spectacular Collection of Superb Books!

I was given this free review copy audio book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

I am absolutely entranced by this series. I love the characters, but the stories are uniquely intriguing. Each book, even though they have the main characters in common, are completely different from one another and all suspenseful and well-developed. I cannot say which book I liked better, as they all held my interest to the end. I particularly appreciated the research that went into the scientific aspect of each story and the explanation given by the author to allow us to fully understand the various plots. The writing is also exceptional as is the narration.
I like the fact that the characters are all intelligent, good-looking, and resourceful. After all these books are works of fiction and not reality. It is a glamorous and fantastic world, and why not? You read or listen to these type of stories for an enjoyable experience, so why not have the protagonists be all you would wish for? If you want ugliness, just turn on your TV...
I'm hooked on the series and look forward to listen to more of Sam Reilly's adventures...

Life goes to the extreme

This is a continuation of the series. It continues with the introduction of technology that goes out of control.

As always the story line is well done. It holds your interest throughout and never fails to let you down.

The narration was excellent.

This book was provided free of charge with the expectation of an honest review.
