The Devil card in tarot shows us where we are harming ourselves, and where we are stuck in maladaptive and unhealthy loops, often tied to trauma, addiction, shame, and impulsiveness.

The Devil can also hint at dark and spicy elements of life, such as polyamory, kink, and things of that nature - though, unless otherwise indicated in the position the card is pulled in the reading, The Devil often does reference excess, lack of control, and being impulsive and intensity in ways that hurt/harm us.

The Devil is about patterns and bad vibes - unfortunately including secrets, abuse, addictions, shopping addiction, sex addiction, overspending, gambling, avoidance, cheating, manipulation, and more.

Do not ignore The Devil when this card comes up! It's a big deal. However you relate to The Devil, you can heal and work through it.

Today on the podcast, we get into the tarot! The seven of swords is one of the most important cards to pay attention to when we are getting a tarot reading, or reading tarot for ourselves. The seven of swords reveals that there is someone who cannot be trusted.

The seven of swords is a sign that there is some dishonesty in the mix. Lying, omitting information, hiding, withholding, cheating (sexually, on finances, emotionally, etc) - all of these sketchy behaviours can be present when we pull the seven of swords.

It's an important card; when it comes up, it brings a very serious message. Ignore the message of the seven of swords at your own risk and your own peril - somebody is lying to you, or hiding something from you.

In this episode of the Secrets of a Witch Podcast, I talk about the importance of reading cards and connecting with spirit all the time - even and especially when we aren't in crisis or dealing with any bad surprises. When we read tarot cards and touch in spiritually even when we have 'no reason' to, we can get a heads up when things are about to nosedive or turn sour, and prepare ourselves for the downturn.

I also talk about how healthy, empowered feminine energy quickly reveals what is in a man - so we don't get dragged along in multi-year long relationships with avoidant, emotionally unavailable men. When we occupy a space of healed, healthy, anchored feminine energy (balanced with masculine energy), it tends to trigger and reveal the unhealthiness/toxicity in men. (Apologies to men listening to this, LOL - switch up the language to get something out of what I'm saying!)

I also give some suggestions of what kinds of questions to ask your cards when you want to reveal what is currently hidden and unavailable to you.

Tarot can absolutely be predictive - it's okay to work with it to show us what we don't see, and what may reveal itself in our future, if there's no intervention.
