I Couldn't Finish the Book

What disappointed you about The Rule Book?

This book read like a diary of a girl who hates dogs, was crushing on her boss, and worried about her mother who had cancer. It was boring, it took forever to get anywhere and when it did it was awkward and that was when I had to shut it off.

What could Jennifer Blackwood have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Create a more believable romance - why did these two get together? What was the point? I'm not sure if it was the performance that made it difficult to like the characters or the book. If there was a backstory that made the characters more likable, I didn't listen long enough to get to that part.

How could the performance have been better?

No clue.

What character would you cut from The Rule Book?

The dog. Listening to this woman rant on about her dislike of dogs made me wonder why there was a dog in the book in the first place.

Perfect Office Romance!

Loved it! It was so funny, swoony, and sexy. Characters were relatable and interesting. The story even had a couple twists I didn't see coming.

Great narration! I wish her character voice for Brogan was a little more gravelly instead of whispery.

Can't wait for Zoe's story!

good book. time burner

I thought it was good... ok. it was hardntonsee hero and her pine to get her, there wasn't much communication and in book connection between them too. was hard to believe.... I wouldn't waste a credit tho. or money.

Sweet story but no real sexy scene. More YA

This is a sweet story and well written. Definitely not a "sexy hot make you wet" romance but a cute sweet love story that you could give a older YA. It is still well worth the credit. Highly recommend

so slow... so long... so blah

Brogan and Laney: this book had potential but it dragged on and on and going absolutely nowhere until close to the end. it takes a little more than half the book before there's even a tiny bit of action between the characters and trust me that's all you get with this book. a tiny bit of action. you just have to use your imagination. I have the book three stars for the drama with the company and the plot twist because I totally expected someone else to be the culprit. other than that.. this was a waste of time. so disappointed.

Long way to go for no sexy scenes

It’s kind of a “lite romance.” I have to agree with another reviewer who said the book reads like a diary of a girl who doesn’t like dogs, hates her boss and wants to care for her mom. I don’t have a problem with any of those subplots (but seriously, the dog? He sounds sweet!!)

There were no real sexy times per se, which I require in my romance books. This book was too long for what it was.

Super Good!

A wonderful story that makes you think and feel through out. The characters and writing are strong and engaging. Loved the action and sexual tension, but wish we had been able to be a part of their sex scenes. We waited so long for them to get there, but got left hanging. Great dialogue through out.

Highly entertaining.

This was a fun story...some angst, some romance, some humor. It ticked all the boxes.

Really good read.

Not the typical trashy romance. a true love story with many obstacles to over come.
