Great story!

I loved this story! Can the Scottish rogue be redeemed? Is her love strong enough to convince him he is worthy of being lived?

You'll not want to stop listening to the story as border clashes, an older sister, and pride war to keep them apart.

Swoon-worthy

This is a book you can't put down once you start reading or listening to it. I've been in love with Reid long before he got his story told. What can I say? I just love a hot rogue! The first and second meeting between Reid and Allie just made me love him even more. And I really enjoy a determined heroine. In my mind, I kept telling Allie "don't give up on him" many times. And when she left with her sister, who made me furious, I actually screamed out loud 'NO'. Reid affected me even more. I kept going between wanting to hit him and telling him to stop doubting himself. As you can see, this book is extremely engaging and I can't recommend it enough. And the swoon-worthy voice of Tim Campbell makes the whole experience a thousand times better. I could listen to him 24x7. The man could read the phone book and would still sound sexy.

Bad boy changes his ways

The first time I read Reid and Allie’s story I really enjoyed it. But then I listened to it and I absolutely loved it. Tim Campbell is so smooth. He brings bad boy Reid and all the other characters to life with his amazing Scottish accent.

LOVE THIS SERIES!

And Timothy Campbell! I buy Audiobooks solely on his narration, especially Scottish romance. His characters, including the females, are amazing.

Cecelia Mecca is one of my favorite authors. This is a standalone but I recommend you read all 10 stories in order to experience the joy.

loved this story and narration

Reid Kerr is content with his place as head guard for his brother, Toren. He lives up to his reputation for being unreliable and clings to his well-known determination never to marry. But when he is sent to Highgate End as his brother's representative at a summit of border chiefs, he meets a woman who has him questioning everything he thought he knew about himself and his goals.

Allie Bowman has just escaped an unwanted marriage, and England, and would love to stay as a permanent visitor at her sister's home, Highgate End. She's enjoying the freedom to finally be herself. At lease until she falls for one of Scotland's most notorious rogues and her sister Gillian makes it clear she has certain expectations about who Allie should marry and Reid is decidedly not that man.

Reid and Allie are determined to be together despite the family and outside circumstances threatening to keep them apart, but their biggest obstacle may in fact be Reid himself.

Gillian's mothering of Allie got on even my nerves, so Alllie's patience is definitely to be commended. Thankfully, she redeemed herself in the end and I wound up liking her, which is especially good since I have yet to read her book. I loved Allie's determination to have her own way for once and to prove that she knew her own mind and what was best for her. She never gave up on Reid even when she would have been wholly warranted in doing so and I loved that. Reid was a typical bad boy with a terrible reputation and a good heart, he just lacked confidence in himself and his own worthiness and that was so sad and also relatable. I loved seeing him grow and find himself as well as love.

I'm reading this series all out of order but nonetheless, I'm loving it. I bought this on Kindle but wound up listening to it on audio and as always Tim Campbell is fabulous.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an audio advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Reid's metamorphosis

Allie's sister Jill was like a dog with a bone-single minded and only her own ideas were right. Love proves the harpie Jill wrong! I enjoyed Reid's transformation after love made him a better man. I liked Allie's tenacity and perseverance. She stuck to her convictions regardless of others. Great ending. The narrator was great. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest review.

Notorious, yes but irredeemable ???

Reid Kerr has the reputation of a notorious womanizer and is determined to never marry. He does not feel worthy of the position of being the Larid's Second in his clan. Sometimes all you need is that one person who sees the real you, the one hidden from everyone - including yourself.

This is another fantastically written story by Cecelia Mecca. Her characters are well developed and I truly enjoy the historical aspect of her books. This book is a part of a series but can be enjoyed stand alone. If it is the first of the Border Series book that you are reading, be warned - it won't be the last!!!

I liked it

Reid was a bit too filled with angst but I loved how Allie stuck with him. She did have some doubts but overall she stayed with him. Jillian was such a bitch I found that affecting my feelings for her as Graeme's wife. Adian was a wonderful part of the book.
