I had big dreams of how I wanted my life. Becoming a rock star was all I wanted. It would solve so many of my problems. With the money that I would make, I was going to take care of my mom - get her out of the hellhole we had been living in all my life. Having your dreams come true isn't something that many people get to accomplish in life. I did, and I loved it...for about a minute.

It's funny how when you think you have everything you could possible ever want, your dreams change. Mine did without my even realizing it. Then I opened my eyes and saw that everything I ever wanted was standing in front of me.

From the first day I set eyes on Emmie, she became a part of me. The guys and I spent years watching over her, caring for her, loving her. Then, without my realizing it, my love for her changed. I found myself aching for her, wanting her in a way that a guy like me had no right to want her. My love and need for Emmie became an all-consuming ache that I was helpless to fight against.

Would she ever open those big, green eyes and see me as anything but a friend?

So So Good

I have read and reviewed this book as an ebook. However this rendition brings a new dynamic to the story. In this book we get Nick's POV on the progression of his relationship with Emmie. This will give you a new dynamic to their love story. I would highly recommend this to anyone and everyone.

Nic's POV

I really enjoyed listening to this book after listening to book one. It goes more in detail between book one's last chapter and the epilogue. It's nice to have that insight.

Love the story, not so much the narrator.

I read this story before and was so excited when the series came out on audio. Devra Woodward is amazing but Chris Chappell was a let down. He was so monotone and had no inflection change for any of the characters. Despite that I enjoyed the story.

Book one from Nick's POV!

This was an interesting audiobook in that it's basically a retelling of the first book from the hero's point of view. Loved it just as much and narration was excellent.

Good for Background

I loved getting a more in depth look into Emmie and Nik and that we got Nik's POV to fill in some blanks. Narration is done well.

GREAT story and...

What made the experience of listening to The Rocker Who Holds Her the most enjoyable?

Devra Woodward is AWESOME! But Chris Chappell is not. Soooo monotone it's ridiculous. Doesn't change his voice for different characters or anything. Hard to even tell which one is speaking.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

Narroration

The narrorator in this book is HORRIBLE!! Chris Chappell does not do a good job portraying the characters or reading the book with real feeling. Devra Woodward does a wonderful job. I won't waste my money listening to anymore books where Chris reads.
