Publisher's summary

Three victims have been found, all killed in the same manner. Drowned when their cars were submerged in the Sacramento River. The killer’s trademark is an obscene word written on the side of each victim’s car.

The police have few clues, but the victims all have one thing in common: they were aggressive, inconsiderate, mean drivers. They paid the ultimate price. When the vigilante is classified as a serial killer, the FBI steps in to help.

Now the vigilante has another victim in his sights. Kevin is basically a nice guy, except when he gets behind the wheel. Can they find the killer and stop him before he claims his next victim and leaves children without a father?

Amazon Charts best-selling author JJ West brings you a gripping tale that will keep you listening to find out who lives and who dies.

Includes strong language and violent scenes intended for adult listeners.

Fun but ends abruptly

The Road Rage Vigilante has a fast-paced plot, which suits the story well. The Teacher starts off with warnings. He targets an unsafe driver, leaves them a note. From there, it escalates. Now these drivers certainly are being jerks on the road - no question there. I'm sure most of us have had a fantasy or two of somehow removing such drivers from the road.
But after a few bodies turn up in the Sacramento River in their cars, the police, and later the FBI, need to get involved. Andy has been following this case for a while but when the FBI steps in, he's pretty much pushed to the side. Thankfully, his friend Ben is on the FBI Task Force handling the case, so he doesn't feel too bad. The two have drinks over it.
Meanwhile, The Teacher has been targeting a new rage driver named Kevin. I really liked the tension between Kevin and the vigilante. It comes through clearly that Kevin is terrified of this mysterious man and he's willing to change his ways.
There are no female characters in The Road Rage Vigilante, though if I recall correctly the Teacher does target one unnamed woman at some point in the story. Women can be rage drivers too. I would like to see some gender balance to the tale.
The Road Rage Vigilante does end a bit abruptly. Nothing is resolved. So this feels like a short prequel to a longer story. There's promise in this story but now solid payout at the end. 3.5/5 stars.
The Narration
Samuel Schwarz has a good voice for this story. It's got a bit of burr in it and that really adds to the tension, helping spin up the tale. All the characters had separate voices though when Ben and Andy share some beers, their voices do muddle into one another. The Teacher is described as having a gravelly voice, like someone who has been smoking for years, so I like that Schwarz uses his natural burr to good effect for The Teacher. The pacing is good and there were no tech issues with the recording. 4/5 stars.
