Publisher's summary

After years of abuse, Daniela Reyes escapes her marriage to strike out on her own. With a rented house near the wilderness and a sexy neighbor down the road, life seems typical until she finds a black bear snoozing in her new hammock. Despite warnings, she feeds her wild friend and watches him return day after day. Her bear is the ideal distraction from the ex who won't let her go.

Russell Hawkins has dedicated his entire life to protecting others. When the death of his wife drives him to retire from the Army, he settles in a remote community for the peace, quiet, and privacy to be himself. As a werebear, he roams the woods with his dog, the perfect diversion from his grief - and the voluptuous divorcee down the lane.

Can a war vet with a secret and a woman with a painful past find their happy future together?

What's not to love?

I loved this as an ebook, and the audio didn't disappoint. The two voice artists did a great job telling this spicy story of a great bear of a man teaching a divorcee how to protect herself from her abusive ex.

As usual, Ms. Savage does a great job developing characters and an engaging storyline.

Have a listen. You won't regret it.

Neighbors

Would you listen to The Right to Bear Arms again? Why?

Yes

Which scene was your favorite?

So many, really enjoyed the bear putting his head in her lap after chasing her ex away.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes and did

Any additional comments?

A wonderful love story. While it was a shifter tale, and a military shifter, it was different in that the bear was the first to begin their "relationship". Can't really explain without a spoiler alert. However, I loved their relationships progress. Russ was the Texan, gentleman and so much more. Loved the accents and I did enjoy the male voice and a female voice with the two narrators.

Loving this bear

Dani had a rough marriage and meeting Russ was perfect finding out his secret is not going to go down so easily much less her crazy ex bugging her

Girl meets bear, bear saves girl's life then girl saves bear's life.

Russ is an army vet and a bear shifter. Daniela adopts and feeds the bear that shows up in the hammock in her yard not knowing he's a shifter. Her abusive ex-husband shows up to intimidate her. Russ gives him a toss.

Short but complete

This is a great story with a realistic plot (for paranormal!). The bear is a caring lover without all the alpha characteristics that sometimes seem borderline abusive, caring enough to make sure that the heroine can defend herself instead of pulling the “I’ll take care of every thing” move. A little family drama, a psycho ex, and happily ever after.

Short and Sweet Shifter Story!

Love the cover and title!

A short and sweet story that was well developed with drama, conflict and some steamy sex scenes.

The characters Daniela and Russ were well developed and watching their relationship grow was both cute and sexy. Russ definitely made her a stronger women and they made a great couple.

The dual narration was really good and I liked how Shoshana and Samuel betrayed each of the main characters voices. I would definitely listen to another audiobook narrated either of them.

Great short story for sale or whispersync deal.

Love the story, really don't like the performance

I only purchase audio for books I've read and liked in print. This is a really good Vivienne Savage story. The audio leaves a lot to be desired. I normally like when there are two narrators: a female who does the female characters and narration when it's from the heroine's perspective and a male for male characters and male perspective scenes. This book is narrated by two people who both do all the voices. So basically when the scene is from the heroine's perspective we get Ms. Franck doing all the voices and when it's from the hero's we get Mr. Boden doing all the voices. That means we get two versions of each character. Very jarring and distracting.
