Reunited: Chaos returns from her year-long exile and finds her home in ruins.

The human-led Alliance has conquered over half the Dominion's lands and is set to overrun the demons' final bastion. But finally reunited with her lovers and accompanied by her new allies, the crown princess is ready to reclaim her nation.

Asoko, thawed from her prison of Eternal Ice, aids the dwarves in their war against the menace from below. Before the other half of Chaos can return to the Dominion, she and her companions will come face to face with a new destiny in the faraway land of fire and ice.

The Return of the Queen is the seventh volume of the Demon Princess Magical Chaos Saga. It sees Chaos and her allies enter an all-out war against the nations controlled by the false gods. In this epic struggle for survival, the Crawling Chaos will have to overcome her greatest challenge yet.

I know my review title sounds lackluster but I really did enjoy this book and it lives up to the rest of the series thus far. This one basically covers the war with the regular humans as well as the old humans / false gods. We also get to see what happens when the two Makatos reunite, although this book doesn't cover much of this at all, sadly.

I think the war between the humans and demons was mostly interesting, although the author all but forget about the use of magic in warfare so I don't feel the war would have happened quite like it played out. Still, I enjoyed the spirit of the narrative all the same.

I was, however, disappointed with the fight against the false gods. Even after all the training, revelations, and growth that Choas went through, for most of the fight she was stupid and lackluster for the sake of making the scene more exciting, which really pissed me off. I won't go into details because I don't want to spoil anything, but if the author is reading this... she can fly!

Once I got over my annoyance with that battle and things resolved themselves, I calmed down and once again enjoyed the ending of the book, which by the way, is probably not the end of the series. We still have Nemesis lurking around somewhere and never find out who tf the court magician and his daughter are, so I'm sure there is more to come.

In short, if you manage your expectations a bit, you are sure to like this installment as much as all the others, but do expect to be mildly annoyed in some parts. Still, it was well worth the listen and provided countless hours of entertainment so well done to the author all the same.

Not Bad Overall

Lots of fighting only wished for more character development/arch after the final war. Especially between her two halves. Overall great!!!

Love the series!!!

Spilled blood is my favorite.

The 7th volume seem to deliver a fun, but also emotional ride. Its not only because of war atrocity that fill the emotion of this journey, but some small and big moment that manage to hit me hard in the heart. Also flying mecha dragon fight and an epic and desperate clash in the end also help along another wonderful journey. They is a 8th volume, but the story also end in a satisfying way, but also leaves audience in anticipation for more.

Another thrilling adventure against false god

I enjoyed the series but this book leaves you hanging unfinished plots. I was hoping for a great ending for a great series. Still one of my favorites.
