Publisher's summary

Learn the 12 principles of self-leadership, the most important factor in driving results and achieving success.

Adam Kreek has consistently defied the odds to find greater achievement in all facets of his life. After 73 days alone at sea, Kreek and his expedition team survived a capsize in the Bermuda Triangle, the subject of the Dateline NBC documentary Capsized. Four years earlier, Kreek won Olympic Gold with his eight-man rowing team. A two-time Olympian, he holds 60 international medals and multiple Hall of Fame inductions.

In The Responsibility Ethic, he shares the 12 essential principles of self-leadership that have fueled his incredible accomplishments - and shows you how to master these principles too.

Kreek is a powerful guide who teaches us how to realize our full potential at any stage of our career and lives. Drawing on his eight years of intensive Olympic training, near-death ocean expeditions, and career as an executive coach and corporate trainer, Kreek shares winning strategies from the trenches, where the strongest minds prevail.

A compelling narrative with powerful instruction and direct application, The Responsibility Ethic challenges business leaders globally to chase their ambitions and to take responsibility for their success.

Honest Leadership

An honest leadership book written by someone who has been through the test multiple times in multiple ways.
The book is broken down very clearly which allows the lessons to be distilled an onboard daily much easier than similarly styled books on leadership and responsibility.
Adam has been very thoughtful and precise in how he presents his lessons and it makes for a very valuable tool!

Very Powerful and Motivating

Adam’s Kreek hit on so many topics from learning and even liking to fail, how to stay motivated and enjoy the grind, importance of sleep and diet, and much more. All while telling his fascinating and very entertaining life story. I will be reading and listening to this book multiple times to try and capture as much of Kreek’s wisdom as possible.

Great Audiobook would benefit from a PDF

The content Adam presents is fantastic. It would be nice to have a PDF included to reference the content in the future since it's an audiobook.

Great manual for reaching your peak.

A must read for anyone in trying to better themselves as well as the teams they are a part of. The book bounces back and forth between strategies for growth and first hand accounts of Adam exemplifying those insights through his own rights of passage as a gold winning Olympic athlete, entrepreneur, and father. While on the outside the target audience might seem to be people in corporate leadership roles as Adam presents certain methods in ways that are easy to present at the next board meeting, the deeper truths contained within speak to anyone trying to improve their ability to set and achieve goals. Adam uses contemporary studies along with Western and Eastern philosophy to craft a roadmap for success and shows where those insights helped him reach his peak.

A great storyteller with action-heavy advice

I first discovered Kreek on YouTube. I remember his story telling and his personality shining through, and it was one of the biggest takeaways I’ve had YouTube.

Fast forward, I was told about this book and I instantly purchased it. Not surprisingly, the book is easy to go through but it also compels you to take a moment between chapters and to think through how I would want to implement these ideas.

I’m not yet done but thought I’d share my enthusiasm and will update this once I’m done!
