Absolutely love it

So this book is absolutely very good absolutely enjoy the characters. A couple of them are quite irritating. The main guy though is awesome and sweet and very caring and I enjoyed the narration. It made the book even better.

This audiobook had me completely invested in Russ and Shannon’s complicated, forbidden romance! 🔥😍 I loved the hockey setting, the tension, and the emotional messiness of their situation. Russ was protective, patient, and exactly the kind of growly hockey hero I enjoy! 🥰 Shannon’s journey toward learning her worth and figuring out what she truly wanted added meaningful depth beyond the romance. The narration brought the characters and all their complicated emotions to life, making this an easy listen. There were definitely moments when I wanted to yell at everyone involved 😂, but I couldn’t stop listening! Overall, a steamy, emotional, addictive hockey romance. 🏒🔥📚

Love the Scottish accent!!!

I enjoyed the way Ainsley wrote Russ' resistance to not lust after his teammate's wife. Shannon went through so much in her marriage and disrespect from her husband. Russ and Shannon definitely had a connection; they both resisted and fought it. Spoiler - no cheating.

I enjoyed the emotional arc of Shannon. Ainsley wrote about how her marriage was dying and how her husband was so disrespectful, especially one certain request he makes of her. Despite the fact she has a connection and attraction to Russ, she gets out of her terrible marriage for herself.

The narrators were phenomenal in the audiobook. Lauren Beck, Nathaniel Priestley, and Dane Anderson brought these characters to life. LOVED Nathaniel's Scottish accent!!!.

Having read the first two books in the series this wasn’t how I thought Russ and Shannon’s journey would go, I was pleasantly surprised.
Lauren Beck portrayed Shannon’s fun, strong and vulnerable side beautifully. Nathaniel Priestley gave Russ the perfect Scottish lilt. And Dane Anderson really made me want to punch Max lol. They were the perfect combo to bring this story to life.

The Rebound Plan by Ainsley Booth is the third book in the Off The Ice Series. Max Tillman is the captain of the Hamilton Highlanders hockey team and husband of Shannon, a former model turned escort turned hockey wife. Unfortunately, she is trapped inside a toxic marriage and Max is one of the most offensive, manipulative and cruel husbands and he's perfectly written as the villain. He married Shannon to take care of him, build a good life, keep a good house, follow him during his hockey career and she's at the end of the line. Russ Armstrong is a third line forward, a huge Scottish distraction who's had a thing for Shannon for years. He's trying very hard to leave her alone and not make it obvious how he feels for her. He has stood by and watched as Max ridiculed, insulted and disrespected Shannon and it's taken every bit of restraint not to step in to save her. It's the WAGS (wives and girlfriends) of the players who pull her into their circle of protection. The women are a definite strength of this book. Once it's apparent that Max and Shannon's marriage is over, Russ and Shannon take their chance on a future together. Theirs was a slow burn with a lot of lust on the side and yes, they certainly belonged together.
The happy ending felt a little bit rushed, but it didn't take anything away from the enjoyment!
Lauren Beck, Nathaniel Priestley, and Dane Anderson are exceptional voice artists. They did a great job portraying the characters, bringing them to life, giving each their own voice and personality. They are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to.
