Publisher's Summary

The Rational Male is a rational and pragmatic approach to intergender dynamics and the social and psychological underpinnings of intergender relations. The book is the compiled, 10-year core writing of author/blogger Rollo Tomassi from therationalmale.com.

Rollo Tomassi is one of the leading voices in the globally growing, male-focused online consortium known as the "Manosphere". Outlined are the concepts of positive masculinity, the feminine imperative, plate theory, operative social conventions, and the core psychological theory behind game awareness and "red pill" ideology. Tomassi explains and outlines the principles of intergender social dynamics and foundational reasoning behind them.

Highly, highly recommend!

This book describes and helps you understand the sociological and psychological reason behind much of what is embedded in our culture in terms of masculinity and feminism.

I am a 22 year old male, in shape, single, and on a successful path in life, therefore I thought I was a prize to women but for some reason, the most of the women I was trying to get with "didn't see it" or I was (in my head) "too mature for they're linear cognitive functioning for our age". There are a few things I was completely missing. Half way through the book I felt my actions changing, mindset changing, and sure enough I have had positive results (I'll save the dirty details). I believe the main reason was that this book gave me the edge of confidence and slight change in mindset that I needed to make it work better for me.

I lacked the understanding of how women worked psychologically, and based my "game" off of the wrong concepts to appeal to women. I already had most of the characteristics necessary to appeal to women, however this book allowed me to do some necessary fine tuning to my 'game'. This book will make you look back and realize where you went wrong in past relations, and why women make the decisions they do, and take the actions they do; even if it seems it makes no since on a functional level.

Every man MUST read this book, several times over.

What did you love best about The Rational Male?

It helped me realize, why as a man I have suffered so much in my life. It was nothing I was doing, I was following all the advice women gave, all the ideas you see in movies, music, I thought women wanted a man who was caring and affectionate, this book helped me realize.. That all my suffering was due from the identification with feminist ideals. The line:A Man's love is unconditional and loves simply for love, a woman's love on the other hand is opportunistic, there's a condition to receiving it. Cut me like a knife....

What did you like best about this story?

The analogy with the matrix, first made me laugh and then question the validity of this book. But as Rollo continues explaining throughout the book and referencing the similarities, that laughter soon turned into a complex set of a emotions that I cannot describe, you realize.. It's true.. We men have been made victims and no one will believe you because, they're part of the system, and just like the matrix, they will fight to preserve it..

What did you learn from The Rational Male that you would use in your daily life?

Once you know this truth.... You cannot go back. You cannot look at women the same and you realize, just how fucked up it is that your needs as a man, were never important to the world, yet your accomplishments is what everyone will relish in..

Any additional comments?

Thank you for this insight..... Thank you for unplugging me from this matrix..

Must read for any man

A must read for any man whether single, divorced, or married. Learn the reasoning behind masculinity being viewed as negative, and how to combat this social dilemma.

Good shit

A little too conspiratorial but he makes good points. I think he tries to make sense of many unconscious behaviors displayed. by women but at the same time can be argued in multiple ways

Clear display of much needed concepts

This makes it easier to understand the much needed concepts of dating and behaviors needed to maintain a positive attitude towards relationships and avoiding the pitfalls that lead to depression because of entering relationships without the necessary skills needed for overall health including mentally.

Essential to understand love and women

I'd recommend the written version since the narrator doesn't do the book justice, but every male should buy both.

Incredible. You're hilarious and you empowered the shit out of me. Pretty new to RedPill but would love to talk sometime. You should put Preventative Medicine on Audible as well - would love to hear more from you boss!

Say “yes” now to speak to sales.

I really can’t get on with this book, it isn’t the author it’s the narrator. He sounds like an a computer generated voice with no emotion, monotone, delivered all at the same speed. It makes this book really hard to listen to. This was my first book on audible and I hope there not all like this

Brilliant red pill advice.

Hard to swallow at first but is a real eye opener and a must read for all males. My only regret is that I didn't have this book 20 years ago.

Dont take ot as gospel

The book has a lot of merit and actually brings home a lot of truths for the listener to mediate on. My take away is that as men we need to stop suppressing our egos, your ego reflects your self worth, dead this mentality of seeing women as prizes it is you who is a prize. one criticism I have is that the book treats Alpha male and beta male in binary terms when actually it's two sides of a continuum. Also I would argue that the obsession with sex is a Beta mindset in of itself and I think readers should be careful that this book doesn't drive their insecurities of not having enough sex in their early 20's. This book shouldn't be taken as gospel. some of the content will challenge your principles.

Disappointing.

Read on recommendation from a friend fairly new to game. For me the dialogue lacks depth, I found this work very repetitive and quite abstract, this wasn't helped by the narrator sounding like he is reading me a children's story his voice covers far too many octaves, he lacks understanding of when to accentuate and how to convey meaning to the words being read. (There is a clear divide between narrators who have read and understood a piece of work before narrating and those simply blerting out a script).

Practical applications and examples are hardly covered in this book, for me, all you will learn from this book is that female social conditioning is an enemy of male dominance unless you understand it and use it to your advantage. This could have quite simply been summed up in those 19 words I just state written rather than the X amount of hours wasted listening to this audiobook in hope that the magic content (based on so many positive reviews) may at some point surface. It doesn't.

This book crystallises many of my thoughts of the last few years as well as throwing light on some issues I’d never considered. Easily accessible and logical - I would recommend this book to anyone.

Be careful, maybe find some inner peace and self love and save yourself a lengthy life lesson

This book is a dangerous book if you read it with a brittle mind.
I have no issues what so ever with the opposite sex, I got this book purely to see if it could reinforce certain beliefs and bring new valuable information , and it does...

But not all of it is accurate , most of it is opinionated and juvenile.
There is some great content in regards to male empowerment that I feel is valuable and much needed but it’s laced with content that can unnecessarily warp your brain and ultimately burden you unnecessarily.

Take it all with a grain of salt , as soon as something doesn’t rub you the right way take note of it and keep listening, make sure you form your own opinion but question your own opinions at the end of it all.

Women aren’t as complex as this book makes out, man aren’t as repressed and poor done by as this book would impress upon you.

There is a world where all of these problems and pitfalls simply don’t exist , get to that place, once you figure out your personal issues that you have with YOURSELF, most of the content will be abit sad.... this is a view point, in it there lyes good information and information that is relative only to certain people in certain situations, don’t let this material become a text book, it’s not based on anything beyond observations and opinions which will be found to be flawed and short sighted, and will only serve to further burden your life if you take to it like a Sacred text... good luck.

Solid Concepts. Terrible Narration.

Despite the solid and important concepts, the narration made this book almost unlistenable to. It was read by a synthetic narration robot, or somebody with a voice just like one. It got annoying very quickly and stayed that way until the end, which often distracted from the message. I suggest buying the physical version unless you really can't spare the time. The narration hurts the head at the same time as the concepts described expand it.

Listened to this entire book overnight - riveting

Must read prior to marriage and dating women. Completely demystifies why many women cheat with bad alpha types and marry nice guys or use them shamelessly as placeholders and why many women have no remorse in dumping a nice guy who invested all his time and recources thinking authentic sex and affection can be bargained for with a woman. Why women can become completely unreasonable/heartless and how the governments and courts have become completely gynocentric and support injustice towarda men

Don't buy this if you're not open minded.

First off, there are some good points in here. I wouldn't call them facts, but for the sake of gender based debates they provide interesting arguments and I'd agree with a lot of the points to a degree.

However based on the language and concepts, I'd say the book/this guy's whole deal takes advantage of the "betas". The whole philosophy of it seems to mainly apply to guys who have trouble with girls/relationships and it picks on their insecurities - providing the "solution". Afterall, that would be the majority market for this kind of stuff.

Nothing wrong with that, but I just think the target audience is a vulnerable one. Guys buy into the whole - "I have to be an alpha shit" pretty easily without even considering that behaviour is exactly the opposite of how an "alpha" should act.

Overall there's many flaws in the arguments and it makes a bit of a joke of science at some points and you probably won't be too impressed with the author. BUT equally it's worth a read for men and women regardless of political views and relationships - assuming you aren't quick to join or oppose the opinions.

Women have Expiration Date (!) - after 24 y =their Market Value declines..

Those words are of the author’s .
His theory IS that woman’s market value is very short till 24 y and that’s WHY men have to treat them accordingly- very poor. If women are 34 or 44 - men need to treat them BAD and if they are 54 or 64 - they are NOT worth even taking about ( they have to die or “be shoot “)
Author’ words that men has to USE several women for sexual reasons in one time ( spinning them like plates and replace one or two plates ( women) in his spin immediately after men got bored with another couple better women for another short while .. no long term relationships- as women are Commodity ( for sex only ) .
MEN are have to be ruthless Alfa males... pigs ..- as ( author’s words again ) women secretly LOVES men who treated them like a replaceable dirt.
Unbelievably.... BUT being an attractive woman , I Honestly don’t want or secretly desire or DESERVE to be used for sex only and be discarded like a dirt ..
I think that The author is just a little man who hates all women population.
PS
I listened this book only to understand from where some men getting their inspirations ...
