A thousand or more years ago, at the edge of the deep wood Alayna was born a mortal, like you. The cherished only child of one of several women with children, who banded together after all losing their men to war. Soon after coming of age at 16, Alayna then loses her beloved mother. Grief awakens in her a strong desire to leave. After many days of travel, seeking the strangest ways she can find, Alayna hears flute music in the far distance. Following it to its source, she spies a beautiful man, though stranger than anyone she had ever imagined. Fascinated, shaken, and soon determined to win him, she is guided to the entrance of a cave. As she chooses to accept the challenge and enter into its total darkness, her true journey of transformation has begun.

The Quest of Alayna is a mythic tale of the Great Goddess in her triple form - Maiden, Mother and Crone. A charming story that is multi-layered. Both a fun and lovely story for youths; and yet rich in psychological symbolism. A feminine archetypal hero's journey that has something for women of all ages,because it's about finding and embracing our own inner divinity - be we Maiden, Mother or Crone.

New twist on an old theme

Well done! Great listen. I was drawn into the story, and couldn't stop listening, even though it soundedlike a familar theme.
Narration was well done. I think the author knows the material best.
