The first book in a thrilling animal fantasy series following the epic journey of three bears, from the #1 nationally bestselling author of Warriors.

When three young bears from different species—black, polar, and grizzly—are separated from their families, fate brings them together on a path that will change their lives forever. Along the way, they will face great danger, terrible tragedies, new landscapes, and situations that require all their ingenuity to survive.

For fans of Warriors, Survivors, and animal fantasy series like Wings of Fire and Foxcraft, Seekers is a sweeping and incredible journey through the beautiful, dangerous world of wild bears.

The story is gripping and emotional; the characters are humanized in a way that keeps them relatable and interesting. Its a short book too.

The ideas in the story are mature. The author poses questions such as: Why do so many people believe in a higher life? What happens after death? Why does suffering occur? What would an existence without an afterlife mean for life on Earth?

It is worth listening to.

A great experience

What did you love best about The Quest Begins?

The story was great, this is a book that has been sitting on my shelf for ages collecting dust, when I saw there was an audio version I was like "Might as well" I started it this morning and have not been able to stop listening. The description on the back of the book is kind of meh, but the story is actually very rich and enjoyable. it goes into 3 young bears early months learning to survive, each a different species, and each in different habitats and each dealing with different but similar struggles.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I feel a great affinity towards Lusa, she is an adorable Black Bear cub who cares for others and is very curious, I also liked the female Polar Bear cub Kallik she seemed like a strong determined character that would do anything to protect her brother, the male brown bear cub, Toklo seems like a turd to me, but perhaps he will have a lot of character development.

Which character – as performed by Julia Fletcher – was your favorite?

Lusa, because the voice she uses reminds me of Mabel Pines from "Gravity Falls" voiced by Kristen Schaal. The resemblance is uncanny.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When the Orcas attacked Kallik's mother, I knew orcas were dangerous but I didn't know they were a threat to Polar Bears. It was shocking.

Any additional comments?

Give it a read, I know it's listed as a children's novel. It is, but don't let that put you off. I'm a 23 year old woman and I loved this book. I just downloaded the second one and when I get my credit next week, I'll get the third. Also check out her Warrior Cat books..

My son and I have enjoyed this book, more than any book we have ever read and the audio edition is gracefully done. There are so many life lessons embedded in this series. I feel blessed to have been able to experience this beautiful piece of art. The imagery is so great, that it's like watching a movie. In fact, my son says this book should be made into a movie, but I reminded him how much detail would be lost in reducing it to a movie. My 12 year old has a new appreciation for literature now.

Purely amazing series for any age

When saw the Seeker series was for children, I hesitated. I’m glad I got The Quest Begins.

Great for Adults too

Bears that pray to spirits. That have morals against taking food for other Bears. Its ok to kill, but don't steal. And another slam at people destroying the planet. Mildly entertaining if you can over look the asking spirits to solve things but not GOD.
