Finally a story to go with the painting
I remember seeing Velasquez' Las Meninas in a college art appreciation class 50 years ago. The dwarf lady always fascinated me. Mari's rival, the midget? Nicholitos (sp.), was equally as fascinating as Mari. He is supposedly the midget in the same painting. This book makes me want to learn more about Spanish history at that time. Best book I've listened to in a long time. This book held my interest throughout and Justine Eyre did a wonderful job.

Intriguing
Although the writing style could find itself to be a bit bland leaving my mind to wander, I still very much enjoyed this story. The perspective of the dwarfess was delivered so well and the story moved at a good pace.
