Publisher's Summary

A page-turning debut novel among the likes of Hunger Games, Snow White, and Throne of Glass, and as ageless as Harry Potter, this dark fairy tale adaptation will have you on the edge of your seat.

What if I told you that everything you knew about your life was a lie and that you’re being hunted? What if I told you that you were prey?

This is the reality for Luvenia Rousseau. Amidst the struggle to survive in a famished, war-torn country and the fight against the phantoms of her past, her family is brutally ripped apart by a tyrant queen’s venomous army. Just when all hope seems lost, she stumbles upon an enchanted realm while the queen hunts for the one who got away.

Oh The Emotes

What an amazing story. I was pulled in, laughing, and crying and imagining myself in the midst of it all with these characters. Ugh it’s so good, I’m gonna listen again!

Thank you J.L. Vampa for this new world of which I can be pulled into and so enjoy.

'Alice in Wonderland' Meets 'Throne of Glass'

This book was a brilliant read! Vampa is amazing at really indulging all your senses to make her unique and beautiful world come to life.
The beginning of this novel reminded me of Alice in Wonderland because of how Luvenia Rousseau stumbled upon an enchanting world but it quickly turned into a quick paced story that easily kept me up late listening for hours.
My only qualm is the narration. Flynn did a fantastic job, however, it was odd to me that the normal narration was in Flynn's normal American accent, but most of the characters were performed in a British accents.
Overall, great listen! Highly recommend for your audible library!

Already can't wait for the next installment!

This thrilling, fast-paced fantasy was already one that I recommended to friends, and it is truly brought to life by the narrator, Harper Flynn. The story is full of mystery, character growth, and fantastic imagery. You won't want to stop listening--but when you do ultimately get to the very end--you'll join me in biting my nails until the release of the next book!

A fantastic story!!!

I LOVE The Queen's Keeper! It's a magical ride from beginning to end. I highly recommend this book and have told all my friends about it. I read it originally on paperback and fell in love, but the audible version seriously brings this world to life. The voice actor did a beautiful job!

Captivating Tale of Adventure and Personal Growth

J.L. Vampa captures the imagination with colorful, descriptive language, and her character development is both clear and intriguing. Vampa weaves mystery and adventure beautifully throughout a story filled with everything that makes a fictional tale unforgettable and timeless: adversity, triumph, suspense, and romance.

I would recommend this book to all of my friends! Vampa had my attention from the very beginning, and Harper Flynn (narrator) performed wonderfully and had adorable accents that seemed to be perfect for the story.

I CANNOT WAIT until the next installment!

Excellent narration of a compelling story!

What a captivating story! I've read The Queen's Keeper twice in the last few months; it is a compelling dark fairytale, with an emphasis on forgiveness and redemption.

I didn't know what to expect when I first read this book - sometimes I struggle to enjoy to female-led fantasy books (or find the protagonist irritating) but that was not the case here. Right from the start Luvenia shows how sensible she can be, and though she makes mistakes and has a lot to learn, I was delighted to see her character grow as the story went on. The lessons she learns, especially concerning herself, are ones that we all would benefit from learning ourselves. When she did make mistakes, I felt my heart breaking for her, hoping for healing on her part.

I loved the other characters in the story, and Aureland itself; what a magical place! My favorite parts of the story were the descriptions of the land - everything was so vividly depicted! Every moment with Queen Nuria thrilled me (here is a character I would very much love to have tea with!) and I simply adore Thera! For the first half of the book I was worried that a love triangle was forming (one of my least favorite tropes) but I was pleased by the direction the love story took - I found it lovely and sweet.

The story wraps up with a terrific twist and cliffhanger ending, leaving you wanting more! I look forward to the second part, as well as the novella about Thera.

Thrilling, touching, and profound!

Beautifully written and narrated, filled with profound allegories, and an honest, hopeful glimpse into trauma.
