A physicist discovers how to control reality and all hell breaks loose. When physics professor Madison Martin is smashed by a car, her quantum expertise and survival instinct enable her to rewrite reality and save her life. She's freaked about what happened but, luckily, the hot physicist from the office next door volunteers to help her decipher what the hell just happened. As their chemistry sizzles she's ready for some experiments of a more biological nature. Unbeknownst to Madison her smartest student witnesses the bizarre accident and learns how to control reality, too. He and his buddies go on a quantum crime spree starting with never-ending beer, sorority girls losing their shirts, and progressing to bank robbery and worse. Everything seems lost when the nature of reality is endangered as fundamental forces like electromagnetism and gravity start changing. Can Madison overcome the odds, thwart her evil student and save reality itself?

Madison, a physics professor, has discovered how to alter reality. Using this knowledge to save herself from a car wreck, she unknowingly has a witness. One of her students now has this ability but it using it for his own personal gain. Teaming up with a fellow professor, a hot one of course, they must stop the student or the world will face dire consequences.

The Quantum Cop had my interest right from the beginning and was such a great listen. I loved how actual science was incorporated into the story, making it almost sound plausible. Who knew that quantum physics could be so fun? Meghan Kelly's performance was well done and enhanced my listening experience. Loved this! I would highly recommend The Quantum Cop.

I was voluntarily provided this review copy audiobook at no charge by the author, publisher and/or narrator. This review is my honest opinion.

Fun Sci-Fi Romance

This story got me hooked from the first few minutes. I love science fiction that could theoretically happen, and when it's explained in a way that has a scientific basis, like it is in this book, it's especially enjoyable. If you allow yourself to be swept into the suspension of disbelief, it's a fun roller coaster ride that just doesn't quit.

The narrator does a great job keeping the story light and fun. The main female character is quirky and bright, and Meghan Kelly's narration suits the heroine's personality perfectly. I'm not sure what another listener found so off-putting, but I couldn't disagree more. I'll just say listen to a sample and see for yourself how energetic and fun the narration is.

The story takes place in Boulder, CO, a place I visited once, enough to remember little things that made me smile as I listened. Part mystery, part romance, part late-bloomer coming of age story, I refuse to pigeon-hole this story into a specific genre except to say that although I was provided with this copy from the author, narrator or publisher in exchange for an unbiased review, I have already purchased the sequel (Quantum Murder) and it's downloading as I write this review. I hope that the author keeps this series going become it's so much fun, and a great new twist on female quasi-detective fiction with an academic twist (since the main character is a physics professor by day but helps law enforcement catch bad guys through her knowledge of weird physics stuff in her off hours!).

Highly recommended.

Loved this story from the start

This book follows Madison, a new professor in a tenured track position who offices next to a "hot" professor :). She discovers that using quantum physics, she can alter reality but quickly see the dangers when a student replicates the experiment. I'm glad to see women in science roles but I really didn't need that brought to my attention. The "action" parts of the book are exciting and it was an enjoyable listen and the humor was a great addition to the technical slant. I was provided this audiobook in exchange for an honest opinion. As a series, I think it has great potential now that the foundation is created - I did get bored with how often quantum physics or q-lapse was defined. I hope future topics include more scientific theoretical ideas gone awry.

Quantum Cop - enjoyable listen

What an enjoyable read! Thank you Meghan Kelly for a great performance. Every character was so easy to follow with their own "voice" different for each. Lesley Smith has woven the story of our young physics professor discovering the way to choose a preferred current reality out of the plethora of quantum choices. Her adventures include a little romance, some outsmarting the bad guys, and a generally pleasurable listening experience.

Review The Quantum Cop

This book grabbed me from the very beginning and I finished in one sitting. It was fun and very interesting with something always going on to hold your attention and keep you wondering what will happen next. The narration was odd and a bit distracting until I got used to it. The narrator did a great job giving all characters different voices but the voice she used for the actual narrator sounded like a raspy whisper...I don't know how else to describe it. After the first few chapters it didn't bother me as much and it's definitely NOT worth missing this great book!! I'm off to get the next in the series right now!

Excellent new series
