Great guidance

I am thankful for the great insight on this book. The only 2 things I do not agree are:
1. I believe that God is all powerful and He is there to take our pain. Accept the pain, let in come in and then giving it to God instead of keeping it within allow me to heal and trust in His Power and will.
2. A small note, the author is talking about a heart that has a song to sing. Acknowledging that every heart has a special gift to share, some may have a touch, or warmth.... I appreciate the lessons to find our personal gift. Thank you very much!

Best self development book I've found

I read some of the negative reviews and decided not to take them too seriously as they might be written by people who did not apply the lesson, negative people tend to give bad reviews. Personally I could not get enough, driving and listening there were absolute jaw dropping revelations about myself I'd never thought of. I was completely blown away by how truly being honest with myself and learning more about who I am. Every part of me needed to hear this. In two days of this information I already see much more clearly the war I have been in with myself, and how to make peace within thank you for making this book available on audio, it's the only time I've got to read is when I'm on the move. I loved the music, the exercises and the patients listen and do the writing exercises and this will change your life!

Too many sentence stems

Where does The Psychology of High Self-Esteem rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I really liked the knowledge in this book. I didn't like the sentence stems - I prefer to listen and learn, rather than to stop and do the practical exercises.

Would you be willing to try another book from Nathaniel Branden? Why or why not?

For sure, Nathaniel really appeared to know what he was talking about. Someone who has practiced a lot and has learnt much that he is willing to share.

What does Nathaniel Branden bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I don't think he brings much.

What did you learn from The Psychology of High Self-Esteem that you would use in your daily life?

The interrelationship between behaviour, self beliefs and self esteem. I will be seeing behaviours as indicators of self esteem, and attempting to practice better behaviours.

Re-read the Sub Title

Re-read the Sub title and understand that this audio book has all the ingredients and thus the potential to be life-changing. As in all such things, change happen not to those who wait but those who DO.
This program involves a lot of inside digging and answering inconvenient questions.
If you are willing to do the work, change is inevitable. If you are not ready yet, that's fine too. Listen carefully and return to it when you do.

Even better than the Six-Pillars of Self-Esteem

What made the experience of listening to The Psychology of High Self-Esteem the most enjoyable?

This program is great because I find it even more practical than The Six Pillars of Self-Esteem
It is narrated by Nathaniel before his disease advanced. His voice is vibrant and enthusiastic. There are other voice actors that play the roles of regular people dealing with life difficulties. This makes the program highly relatable/practical

What’s an idea from the book that you will remember?

Its filled with practical exercises, sentence completions and it goes deeper with issues dealing with the child-self. This is something where The Six Pillars didn't had as much. This program, with examples, shows how important it is to deal with these problems. Frequently they influence us without our awareness but if you apply the exercises in the audio program you can bring it to your consciousness and solve them

Any additional comments?

Think of this program as the proper audio version of the Six Pillars. I'm know there is an audiobook of the Six Pillars but frankly, I found it too short and not well edited. Nathaniel was advanced in his disease when he narrated that, and his voice showed that. Meanwhile on this program he was still healthy and full of life, and this comes through in his voice and passion

Very Good

This is not an audio book you just listen to. The format is Branden explaining a point or topic and how it relates to self-estemm. In these parts a few actors sometimes play the part of Branden's clients to give real world examples of what he is talking about. The acting is quite good. After the topic has been explored by Branden you are then asked to complete several sentence stems with around six endings. The sentence stem exercies are supposed to provide insight or highlight some part of you thinking or state etc. and then to alert to you the possibility of change. If you do all the sentence stem exercises you will probably spend more time on them then listening to Branden and the actors.

I found this a very helpful and insightful program. There were many times I stopped to pause after a passage I found relevant to my life to consider what Nathaniel Branden had said. The sentence stem exercises were useful and and times thought provoking also. Well worth a look if you are after a practical program to improve your self-esteem.
