Critic Reviews

"A must-read for every coach. Rich Litvin and Steve Chandler offer a revolutionary approach to creating a career and business that you love. No internet marketing. No email list. Just one great relationship at a time." (Marci Shimoff, number-one New York Times best-selling author of Happy for No Reason)
"The sad truth of the coaching industry is that many of the most caring people give up after a time, because they can't make enough money to survive and thrive. Steve Chandler and Rich Litvin are on a mission to give every coach the chance to succeed on their own terms." (Michael Neill, founder of Supercoach Academy and author of The Inside-Out Revolution)

Abridged

Would you consider the audio edition of The Prosperous Coach: Increase Income and Impact for You and Your Clients to be better than the print version?

No! This title through Audible says it is unabridged. When I compared it to the printed book, it is not being read word for word.

I am glad this was my first Audio book

This is my first audio book and I could not have picked a better book.
I absolutely loved the content, speaking the truth. I will now get the book in hard copy so I can refer to it again as I am building my coaching practice.
I think this is a great book with some powerful insights and challenges useful to any new coach or coach who may be struggling to appreciate their value and get the clients you want to have.
This was truly transformational for me and very timely as well. I am glad I picked this book.

TRULY A MANDATORY LISTEN!!! 💯👊🏻🎯🙌🏼

A truly a BADASS Audio full of easily explained concepts that are backed by personal their experience in the field of Coaching! There are so many relevant and detailed examples that are easily duplicatable for receiving the result you want from your client, and the results your clients want from you.
I especially loved how transparent and open Litvin and Chandler are about their thought process and intentions behind their coaching techniques and philosophies.
I am a Personal Trainer looking to offer more value in the Mindset Coaching, and I'm so excited to finally have found the kind of book that delivers point-blank and no bullshit "fluff" just to sound cool.

not much in the way of ideas

there is more selling his coaching to me than giving information on how to actually build a business

An inspiration generator

This is a motivational book for serious coaches! I'm a student newbie, I know nothing, but I listened to the book over about a week in increasing amounts of time. I will listen to it again - and again. The Prosperous Coach pulled my game into focus, made me sit with my own motivational challenges, laid out what I will need to do to make being a coach work. It opened the door on the macro-level devotional, committed practice that is required. I understood beyond doubt that few coaches can really succeed in making a career but those who have the combination of spirit, courage, discipline and mindfulness can fly.
Thank you Rich Litvin especially, I learned that coaching is going to exhume and bury my sense of self over and over, but the price of *not* doing it - if it's within you - is unthinkable.
Though the actual message of the book is how to make money by learning the disciplines you need, the inner secret is that If born to it, a coach today is a shaman of possibility. Thank you, profoundly.

Fast, effective, true, and worked immediately for me!

I read quite a few business books. I consider myself well-versed in this genre. This book is not very long and seems to be simplistic it’s approach. However, listening to it over the course of 24 hours has changed my life. I was inspired by the authors and put into practice what they challenge each leader to do. I can honestly say that while reading this book, I gained new client and I’m thrilled to have this knowledge as I move forward in my company.

To the authors, thank you for the book. To anyone that wishes to read this book, do it. As you read it, apply the principles. They work for me and I know they could work for you.

Repetitive useless info

Very boring, repetitive, uneducative. Saw all the 5 star reviews and hoped for better, but it's really not worth it.

Good tips

First 20mins I was getting bored as it seemed to just tell you all about what they provide, how their services affected clients etc but then that was pushed aside and they got helping!

Some great tips around mindset, taking with clients and prospective clients, around money mindset and more - definitely worth a listen - I listened at 1.25x speed as normal rate was too slow!!

Finally someone speaking some coaching sense

I've taken a notepad's worth of notes from this book. Finally someone speaking sense around gaining coaching clients in a sustainable and long term way. Highly recommended. I will be dipping into this book over and over.

Hmmmm...

So, throughout this book, the authors repeat that a coach does not need a website. Yet the book ends with Rich Litvin exhorting the reader to check out his website...!?!?!

Not worth the credit

Dissapounted with this. Feel i wasted a credir.
Its a book about getting customers but honestly nothing you probably dont already know.
Steve Chandler is good however Rich Litvin seems to be promoting himself mostly.

I have read this book 8 times so far.

and now with the audio book I'm on course for 50. It's my third hand. I'm a student, no doubts but I had always felt something was a little cheesy with coaching. When I came across Steve and Rich I instantly knew this was going to be my approach. It cuts out the sh!t and makes sense to me. Everything in life starts with connection, forget out money, make serving your people the aim and things will take care of themselves. Thank you, both.

Possibly a bit overwhelming for beginners

I enjoyed this book up to a point but would say it’s probably more suited to coaches with some experience / an already established coaching business who are looking to take their practice to another level. The ‘Litvin Levels’ (where are you in your coaching journey; student, novice, competent etc) is designed to inspire you to the next level but it only made me feel more of a beginner. If you are an experienced coach it’s probably an absolute winner.
Rich Litven is a great speaker and his voice works well in audio. Steve Chandler on the other hand needs speeded up!

Very good... with the occasional contradiction.

Overall I felt this was a very good book containing great value with actionable tips both practical and mindset.

I did feel the advice given contradicts itself at times though which is a little confusing to its message.

In saying that, if you are building a coaching business, it is in my opinion a 'must read'.

I've found it very helpful and I now intend to both listen to and read regularly.... and it's not very often I say that about any book - so I guess that says it all :)

Every Coach MUST read this book

This is by far the best coaching book I've read! It goes against the grain of traditional coaching business models and makes perfect sense! I'll be rereading and implement each step as I go through it again. Absolutely loved it and I will treasure this book forever! Thank you Steve and Rich fit sharing your strategies!

Brilliant

As Steve and Rich said their coaching is not for everyone and I absolutely agree with that based on the content of this book.
Many of us are thought to do everything opposite of what they are teaching and that is what I find brilliant about this book. It’s a new way of thinking and coaching, it’s a manual to really step into your power and who wouldn’t want that?
Brilliant!!!!

lots of telling, no real examples or explanations.

majority of the book was "do this" without explaining how, or backing up why. The entirety of the book seemed to convey that you should simply adopt certain principles because the authors say so. Little substance, lots of self promoting

Stretch higher

This is An eye opener to not only how I should approach coaching but what I should expect from a great coach. I realise that despite having had some coaching, I was not really coached.
