Publisher's summary

Outspoken and fearless, Deborah has faith in God but struggles to see the potential her own life holds. As an Israelite woman, she'll marry, have a family, and seek to teach her children about Adonai - and those tasks seem to be more than enough to occupy her time. But God has another plan for her.

Israel has been under the near constant terror of Canaan's armies for 20 years, and now God has called Deborah to deliver her people from this oppression. Will her family understand? Will her people even believe God's calling on her life? And can the menace of Canaan be stopped?

With her trademark impeccable research and her imaginative storytelling, Jill Eileen Smith brings to life the story of Israel's most powerful woman in a novel that is both intriguing and inspiring.

Eileen Smith Has Done it Again!

Another amazingly written story by J. Eileen Smith! This story pulls you in completely over and over again! Deborah is by far my favorite Judge in the Bible and I felt like I completely understood the call of God on her life!

Very good story and narrator

The story of Debra is brief in the Bible, however, the author made the character's life story very interesting. At times the details were long winded making interrupting the flow of the story. All in all the author stayed true to the events surrounding the biblical story of Debra the judge. I look forward to reading more from this author.

Well written and researched

If you want to learn more about this biblical period then read the book.
It will help make book of Judges come alive and understand the Lord's anger towards the
Israelite nation. I found both the narrative and the narrator performance engaging.

Delightful

No one brings Bible characters and situations to life better than Jill Eileen Smith. Rachel Botchan does a delightful job of narrating. I love to knit and listen every morning, and I'm grateful for the hours of peaceful satisfaction.
