I want MORE!!

This was awesome! I can understand how some people may not like Frankie because she tends to run before facing whats bugging her. But can you really blame her esp with how her own mother and father were. I don't know if I would have been as forgiving to Benny's family so fast I mean she was giving them the silent treatment for a reason in the hospital but then I can see her deciding thats its not worth the grudge. I was mad at Benny for letting her run like he did, I thought he was so determined to have her. Why did he wait? Drama but glad it didn't last long. For a long distance relationship I think they did a bang up job there really wasn't much drama there and I thought there would have been. I was checking out the Goodreads rating and I am really surprised at the 2 and 3 stars maybe you have to experience this book audio book style to truly appreciate it. Either way I was not disappointed in the least. I think Frankie grew as a character and was open and honest when she could be. And I think Benny brought that out in her and had her back when she needed it. So all in all I gave is 5 star's all the way through. Enjoy Everyone!

Get pronunciations correct!!!

I cringe every time I hear the Bianchi name mispronounced in this book! Has the narrator not to mention the editor or production crew (I assume crew?) ever considered doing a simple Internet search to find a correct pronunciation if they are unsure? I checked myself & there are several websites all with the correct pronunciation which is Bee ah n kee -like Chianti wine.
So annoying!!
An author like Kristen Ashely (who is one of my favorites) should get an experienced narrator for each & every one of her books!
I will be reading this one one own & finish out the series with the last book on audio.

It's ok

Is there anything you would change about this book?

I love Kristen Ashley books, but this one... I dunno I feel like the girl's kind of a push over... I get it, hot guys but I feel like a lot of the women in her books forgive because the hot guy is "ready". The women are constantly being put off and I dunno I feel like there should be more anger, they're to forgiving...unless I am just an angry person?

What three words best describe Amanda Bruton’s performance?

I could hear her slurp every-once in awhile and it was...off putting. Otherwise she did a good job

✫✫ 4 Stars ✫✫

This one was good just not as great as the others. I loved Benny and was excited to get to his story! I love how well he goes with the flow of life and doesn't try to push Frankie for more than what she can give him. He was great at making things work no matter the obstacles and seriously good at compromising. I have to say their story was a little boring. I guess I expected a lot of excitement because of the past books in this series.

The narration was good, Amanda Brunton did a great job with these characters

Good

My review: 3.5 stars

Story 4

narration 3

We are first introduced to Franky and Benny in the end of At Peace. I loved At Peace so I was very excited when we met Benny and Franky and I couldn't wait to hear their story. I enjoyed the story. I wasn't head over heals in love with it like I was with At Peace but it's good.

Franky and Benny have an honest love and overcome many obstacles, mainly being that Benny'd dead brother used to be with Franky and the entire family held a grudge against her. I did at times feel like this didn't live up to the amazing start in At Peace. I wanted a bit more. More of what I am not quite sure, that umpf I guess. A lot does happen and we get to see one of my favorites, Luke Stark. (Yummy Rock Chick)

The thing about audible books for me is that the narration can really impact the story. Perhaps I would have been in love with this had I not cared for the narration 100%.So the problem with the narration for me was that I could tell when the actress stopped and started again. Sometimes there were weird pauses and then her voice would get loud. She did a god job with Benny, but sometimes Franky's voice would sound kind of manly. Eeks. Cals voice for me was to feminine. (He's a tough guy)

I would also have liked this book to move faster for me, and I feel like that is a reoccuring theme for my feelings on this series.

Disappointing

Would you try another book from Kristen Ashley and/or Amanda Bruton?

Yes, I love Kristen Ashley but this book felt like she didn't have much to say about the
characters so just filled in with boring details. It did not compare to Kristen's other books.

What was most disappointing about Kristen Ashley’s story?

It just wasn't an interesting story.

Is this Kristen Ashley? Maybe it's the narration.

I'm about 6 hours in and getting kind of bored with this one. It started out with good character development but now it's just getting drawn out. We need to get on with the story. That said, the narrator is really flat and brings little to the book. It may move faster and be more upbeat with Kate Russell, Emma Taylor or Susannah Jones. They narrated the Rock Chick and Mystery Man series and some of the other books that seemed to be a more enjoyable listen. It just sounds like both characters are depressed.

Good performance, good story

There is something very engaging about Kristen Ashley's work, something I do not entirely understand. Her plot lines are not typical and do not adhere to the standard formula, and that may be the elusive element that I can not so easily explain. It works, though, and that's what counts.
That said, she characterizes extremely well, steadily---oftentimes explosively---drives the romance/relationship, writes emotionally powerful prose and seriously steamy scenes, and leaves you with an experience to remember by the time you hit her trademark, satisfying epilogue.

Amanda Bruton gave a good performance. Her narration drew me in and never jarred me from the story. She portrayed Frankie's attitude and internal thoughts very well.

While this is not my favorite Burg story, I enjoyed it very much and would not have wanted to miss it. Well worth the money.

Story: 4 Stars; Audio: 2.5 Stars

Story was typical for KA and nothing too original. If I had only read, rather than also listened, I might have enjoyed it more. The audio presentation wasn't the best I've heard. A female narrator for both the female and male POV's. She was okay for most of the male voices, but she completely ruined Joe's(Cal's) voice. He is one of my favorite KA heroes (At Peace) and the narrator made him sound like a nasally mobster wannabe. I cringed every single time he had dialogue in the story and ultimately ended up reading through any parts with his dialogue
