Publisher's Summary

From the New York Times and USA Today best-selling author of The Forgotten Child.

Falling in Love with Jed Friessen was a dream come true.

Married to Jed, Diana has a family and is living her happily ever after. She knew heartbreak and suffering as a child, and the pain of rejection, but she now understands what it means to be loved.

However, when the past comes knocking on her door, reminding her of everything she's left behind, everything she was, and everything she's lost, her guilt and doubt threaten the life she's built with her husband.

Book 3

Any additional comments?

This is book 3 in the ongoing series featuring the Friessens. Touble has descended on the Friessens and they have all come together to protect their own. It seems as though it is centered on Diana as her mother keeps stopping by under the guise of making amends for all that she put Diana through as a child.

don't bother if you havent read the other stories

I got this book not realizing that it was part of a group. It's not really very good as a stand alone story. So don't bother unless you have listened to the 1st few books before this one.

The Promise

The Friessen Family can be amazing and annoying. I absolutely love Becky and her husband! But their sons can be a bit over the top.

Diana’s mother makes another appearance in this short story. And she is torn between wanting to believe her and knowing she shouldn’t. Jed is so overprotective that he tries bullying her mother away. (Which seems to be how the boys handle all issues) The Friessen boys/men seem to have lots of issues when things don’t go their way. I really did not like it, appreciate how he handled the issue of his wife wanting to return to work. His solution was to beat her down mentally and get her pregnant instead of talking it out like they eventually do. I love that his mom (Becky) calls him out on this stuff!
Nice job on the narration!

Crazy family, controlling man

Any additional comments?

Jed and Diana only thought they were through with his crazy family after his mother passed away. However little did they know that the mother had set out other little plans that were taking place from Beyond the Grave. I quickly fell into this story the narrator did an amazing job and kept the characters alive through each individual book in the series. the narrator made me wish the book was never going to end. Hopefully we get to hear more from them as a collaboration in the future. I have to say I'm not a big fan of Jed he is very old school I am man you will listen to me which gets quite annoying especially since he got his way in the end.

Great Read

The Promise (The Friessens #3) was a great read by Lorhainne Eckhart. Being married to Jed, Diana has a family and is living her happily ever after. She now knows what it means to be loved after feeling heartbreak and suffering as a child. Her past comes knocking and reminds her of everything she left behind. I enjoyed reading this book and cant wait to read more by the author.

Another engaging story in this series

We are back with the Friessens, this time, though the story centers around Jeb and Diana who have been married for a few years, it also includes Jeb’s parents as well as other members of the Friessen family, mainly Andy.
Jeb is still processsing secrets he’s discovered about his parents , when Diana’s mothe , and her past, come knocking on their door.
Is Faye really wanting to reconcile with Diana? WIll bringing someone that needs a lawyer put a wedge between Diana and Jeb? And what really is Faye’s agenda, especially since past experiences makes them all suspect she has an ulterior motive.
Once again, we are reminded that as wonderful as life is, it’s sometimes messy. That everyone has a secret and things are not always what they seem. That life is not black and white but rather various colors of gray.
This is another engaging story with complex characters that will keep you on your toes from the beginning to the end.
The narrator in this audiobook did a good job with the various voices in the story. You always knew who was either speaking or thinking.

The Promise

I enjoyed listening to Valerie Gilbert.

This is the third in the series. We return to Jed and Diana. Jed is protected of Diana, who had gone through a horrible childhood.
Twist and turns and emotions
