Publisher's Summary

Learn to be your own best ally. Being kind to ourselves is one of the hardest lessons we have to learn. It is incredibly hard to succeed when your inner voice is continually criticizing you and destroying your confidence. Shut down your inner critic whenever it starts chirping at you. Take the time and energy you used to spend worrying and criticizing yourself and reinvest that time and energy into solving problems, learning more, and building yourself up.

If you are struggling with confidence, consider working with a coach or taking confidence-building courses online or in person. As you gain confidence, it shows and gains its own momentum. The more confident you feel, the more success you gain and the more you attract. As I gained confidence while speaking and teaching, more and more people started approaching me to speak at their events or to teach their teams. Now I am at the point where people find and approach me regularly and success comes much more easily.

When I face large projects and overwhelming workloads, I am confident that I have the skills to manage them superbly. Instead of worrying about the tasks ahead of me, I am like an emergency room professional - triaging the tasks, assigning priorities, and ensuring critical tasks are taken care of first. Don’t get me wrong - I still find some tasks distasteful or boring, but I have strategies to deal with them (if I can’t delegate or outsource them) instead of putting them off. And I have shared those strategies with you.

Great to listen

I love that the author was short on theory and long on practically and that he zeroed right in on real and common procrastination pitfalls. The tips in this book helped me take immediate action, and I completed the assignment earlier than normal and to a higher standard than my normal work since I had more time to work on it. I look forward to re-listening the book and incorporating more of the tips in my daily life. But so far this book has already had an incredible effect on my procrastination!
I’ve recommended this book to some of my friends and look forward to seeing how it impacts their productivity too.

Life changing book

I really wish this book had been available to me years ago, as it would have helped me in college. I'm using his techniques now, and I'm grateful I found this book. Richard acknowledges his own struggle with procrastination and shares simple methods that ACTUALLY WORK based on first hand, experiential benefit.

Key

This book has blessed me tremendously it has opened up my eyes as to why I truly procrastinate realizing and understanding it's not because I'm lazy it's because I need to put things in perspective I am so grateful that this book came at a time in my life when I see myself doing greater things in life.. I have order in my life now, and I am so grateful that because I took the time to read this book, my life will be for ever changed and I'm able to impart the same principles into other people and letting them see their shortcomings as well and understanding it's not that they don't want to...they just need to learn how to prioritize their lives in order to see the results that they need in order to move forward

The author is a very organized fellow

The author is a very organized fellow, who puts his ideas forth clearly and articulately. I found his book easier to implement and his systems easy to adopt. Its a matter of making and having good habits. He outlines what those habits are and how to become more productive.

Easy to listen and practical examples

I found that this book had many worthy ideas. Procrastination is a big problem for most of us. In one psychology study over 70 percent of college students identified themselves as procrastinators. Other studies have show that procrastinators tend not only to be less happy, but also to have more stress, less sound sleep, and an impaired immune system.
I enjoyed listening this book and agree in the examples that the author gave us.

I found that this book had many worthy ideas.

I found that this book had many worthy ideas. I plan to re-listen it and actually study it in order to effectively implement what it has to teach. What I liked most was that the knowledge was evidence based. Too many self-help books are based only on the author's experience and not scientific studies. This author actually cites the studies.

I have been making some changes and love it. Wonderfully organized and eminently readable, it opens your eyes to WHY you're actually procrastinating, then proceeds to offer all sorts of terrific ACTION STEPS to implement immediately! I love that the author was short on theory and long on practically and that he zeroed right in on real and common procrastination pitfalls such as social media, binge watching series, video games, etc.

I was feeling guilty and like I wasn't accomplishing things in my personal life because of procrastination, I dreaded getting things done and sometimes I did just because I had a lot of free time, letting my inner procrastinator to take over my life without me realizing, so I decided to read this amazing book to find answers to my problem, thanks to the book I know what are the triggers that make me procrastinate and have a plan for it, I also was doing a to-do list but by when I ended listening I changed it with a new strategy and is beginning to change my life, thank you for taking the time to narrate this book.

Extremely useful to help

This is a great extremely useful to help first of all to understand how procrastination works. Once we know what makes us procrastinate, it offers effective methods to get past it and achieve our goals.
It’s written in an easy to read, effective prose and I particularly found the two minute rule effective: I have been applying it to some of my tasks and it does wonders in getting things accomplished.
I also found the author very insightful when he tells us to stop striving for perfection because that’s just another obstacle (or an excuse) to procrastinate.
I absolutely recommend this book, it proved to be a great tool to help being more productive.

Perfect for me!

I've been procastinating lately over some big projects and tasks that needs to be done. Someone actually recommended me this book and grabbed it right away while it was on promotion. I'll give this piece a five stars for an outstanding effort on putting this up. The author did an amazing job on the whole book, giving extra pin points to some important areas on how to beat procrastination. This is actually my third book that I've purchased regarding procrastination

5.0 out of 5 starsExcellent book.

I really liked some of the ideas and exercises given throughout the book. The schedule setting one was very helpful. The section on having low self-confidence and how that can trigger procrastination, was intriguing and made me think. Overall, I would recommend this book to any type of procrastinator.
