The land of Keros is ruled by King Natashie. His kingdom is beautiful with mountains, forests, and swamps. A realm full of trolls and sprites and dragons.

In a tiny seaside village lives Serah. She's a regular girl who believes in fairy tale creatures and loves to read legends. Her favorite is The Lost Princess about a terrible war and the king who hid his baby daughter. One day, the king will find his daughter and make her a princess.

While Serah is mostly happy, her family is poor. Her parents keep secrets, and she must obey important never-to-be-broken Rules. Then one day Serah sees a fan-tail and a glitter-top under a bright sun. Everyone knows this means a special event is about to take place.

At the market the very next day, Serah hears a royal message and learns her favorite legend isn't a legend after all! Now begins an epic adventure into The Weeping Woods alongside a wild boy called Asher, his pet birkey, and Asher's crazy idea that she is the lost princess. Serah has a choice. Will she follow Asher deeper into the mysterious land of Keros or run home to the world she's always known?
