Publisher's summary

Can the orphaned preacher and the heartbroken rodeo queen navigate the path to true love with a lie and an ex-beau blocking their way?

Learning of Faith Johnson's rash promise to her father, New Hope Baptist's interim preacher Asa Davidson shows up to apply for the position - of husband. The cowgirl was only trying to give her dying father hope by promising to marry the first 30-something-year-old Christian virgin to ask. Who'd ever dream one existed in all of Texas, much less Red River County? But sure enough, one comes a' courting the very next day thanks to the Lord and Daddy's baby sister, loud mouth Aunt Iris. Faith is appalled, but a promise is a promise. She only needs to figure a way out.

Originally, Asa sees matrimony as a career move. He hopes a godly, local wife will seal the deal for a permanent call. Then asked right out about that very thing, he lies. Sparks fly when her past love and the preacher meet up, but as the days pass, she finds herself admiring the man and his relationship to God more and more. He's a hard worker and wonderful, fun companion. Maybe she could learn to love him. But what if New Hope doesn't call him? She loves it right where she's at. Plus what about her dying father? And there's that untruth between them. And to make things even harder, her ex comes to Christ through it all!

A sweet fun read

I am really not a contemporary romance reader, but as Carol Macado wrote this book I couldn’t resist. She is one of those authors who always comes up with great plots and lovable characters. I have to say in this book the preachers likability seem to jump off the page. I have never experienced a book where I felt chemistry with the character in the book she is such a good writer and this book is so good. It is a modern day marriage of convenience he wants to marry her to help his job prospects as a man of faith and she needs to marry him to set her dying fathers worries about leaving her alone and unmarried to rest. She said she would want to thousand 830 year old virgin, little did she know she would find one. This book is so good and so funny I love the relationship between her and the preacher I think it’s the kind of relationship everyone wants to hang out with their other half. I highly recommend this book to those who love love and a good fun sweet and clean romance story. Just an F why I above I meant to put a 30 year old virgin thanks to dictation it put the wrong thing and do a Audible who makes it virtually impossible to fix a word in a sentence unless you erase the whole review while using screen reader.

Sweet Contemporary Romance

Normally I would label this as Christian Romance. After all its about a preacher. But the views on Adam and Eve prevent me from labeling it as such. As Asa says, his views are not issues of salvation, but they are also not views of the Bible.

As far as the rest of the story, I loved it! And the narration was very good as well.

Loved it

This is not your ordinary love at first sight romance. They fall in like and then gradually weave their way to a fabulous happily ever after. I absolutely love the twist and turns that match true life if's and why's and second thoughts of a journey to the alter. The ending blew me away!!

Enjoyable romance

I think marriage of convenience stories set in modern day are difficult to create and make them believable. However, this author did a good job of it. Faith’s father’s health is deteriorating. He wants nothing more than to see his daughter married before he dies. The new interim pastor, Asa, hears about Faith’s situation and offers her a marriage of convenience, but it would also be a real marriage. He thinks a wife will help him receive an offer from the church to become their new lead pastor. Listening to these two seemingly opposite strangers trying to get to know each other is entertaining and heartwarming.

I greatly enjoyed the narration of this story. It was well done and the narrator did a great job of portraying both Faith and Asa, as well as the side characters. I enjoyed this story very much.

Believe

God will provide, that's what Faith believes. She needs a husband, so her aunt and father go looking for one for her. Her Dad wants her married before he dies. The new preacher at the New Baptist Church, Asa, figures he is the best candidate, plus it will help him with his job. The problem is an old boyfriend and whether or not he becomes the permanent preacher. Watch how God does provide, when you lease expect it.

Show your faith

A short story about a pastor and his faith. Pastor Asa Davidson hears that Faith Johnson has declared she will marry the first man that meets her requirements, so he decides to apply for the job. Faith is astounded that her Aunt has asked the church to pray for Faith and her Father [who is dying of cancer], without her knowledge. When Asa approaches Faith she thinks he is applying to work on the ranch and tells him she doesn't need anyone. Caryl McAdoo has written a cute story and Julie Carson does a wonderful job narrating.

God is faithful always!!

Oh man, I really enjoyed this book. No violence, illegal activity, no bad language. A great, clean read that kept you guessing to the very end. God is relied on in this book in every aspect of life’s situations. It almost goes along the line of a mail order bride story with a few surprises!! It is a book you will find hard to put down. Looking forward to the books that follow in the series
