Insightful & empowering

I liked this book. Identifies the limiting beliefs we develop and how these beliefs limit our ability to be free to create our own reality. Shows how to shift to a more empowering mindset and gives examples of facts we can be sure of to help us get started. Lots of resources at the end as well.

Realistic thinking though common sense is probably something most of us don't commit to as the main theme in our day to day lives.

Free your mind

I’ve really enjoyed reading this book. I really like to be free, but I am manipulated and intimidated at work, so reading this book will help me block out the trouble people are causing, and replace it with the fact that I will be my true self and not be mad about the trouble they may cause me. I need to rise above it and be the bigger person. I will not let drama ruin my reputation or my well being.

A guide to a calm and peaceful existence - it set me on a path to a more compassionate and accepting mindset. I prefer the lecture format to the more conversational style of “the power of now”

Still enjoying the book.

Still enjoying the book. I am over half way through. Enjoyed the personal writing and the author's style throughout.
This is not a dry treaty but a book one can get into and enjoy. I think the lines of mindfulness and hypnosis get blurred a bit in the book; for someone who does not know the difference they could be a bit confused.
Still, give it 5 stars and would purchase another one of his books.

Good for beginners and familiar folks alike!

Got into a couple of stressful situations a few days ago and the mindfulness books I had in my possession are quite short. This one's short too but I'm giving it a 4.5 because it has a little bit more. I can say it is better than the other mindfulness books I read in the past because it gives some useful advice to people who might already be familiar with the practice. The section covering "over generalization" as pretty interesting. The early part of the book discusses mindfulness for the uninitiated and its pretty descriptive although stuff I already know. Easily my favorite so far but I think this topic deserves to be expounded more.

Amazing book!

This is a book which doesn't beat around the bush. Its short and to the point and creates an impact on the reader. The book basically tries to explain the reader how to live in the present and not ruin your days by thinking about the past or the future. This book has taught deep lessons that concerns simple situation. In that way, I could say that this is a wise book. This book highlights the simple steps on how to be present in any moment we are up to which benefits not just us but others as well.
It is a nice reminder of what is important and the book as a whole is a brief and relaxing read. I recommend it whether you are familiar with the concept of mindfulness or not.
