This approximately hour-long audio sampler of poems is meant to be used in conjunction with both the Children's Edition and the Teacher/Librarian Edition of The Poetry Friday Anthology for Celebrations, an ILA Notable Books for a Global Society selection. Note: While this audio sampler contains 35 poem readings, the books contain 156 poems in English and Spanish and are ideal for pre-K to grade 6, but universal in their appeal and appropriate for language learners of all ages.

Awful Audio

The audio is terrible. There are various narrators. As each one changes, the volume varies wildly. Some have a bothersome echo. The poetry was ok. I was disappointed. There are many bilingual authors and authors whose works have been widely translated that are full of rich language. This book stoops the level of “Roses Are Red” rather than focusing on exemplary works that ate accessible to children. There are some great poems and many that are just poems.
