Very good

I enjoyed listening to this book more than I thought I would. Very interesting. It not only told the story of Peter Lawford but excellent insight into Hollywood and its system.

An amazing actor with a now tarnished memory

The history of Peter Lawford’s life was very in depth and interesting.
However, many parts of his life should have remained personal and private. I don’t understand what the reasoning was to tarnish his image with so many accounts of drugs, alcohol, and sex. Some accounts were so personal that it was actually embarrassing to read and left you wondering why there was a need to tell these very private details of his life after he is gone.
There has been way too much included in this book that should have went with him to his final resting place.

An honest and revealing portrait of Peter Lawford

For me, Peter Lawford was an interesting person. This was mainly because he was connected to a powerful family: The Kennedy’s. In retrospect, it was quite appealing to me to read his story—and this I did with this book. For anyone who remembered Peter, you will find the book to be an honest and revealing look at one of the most famous actors or the 1960’s and ‘70’s. You’ll hear a lot about this man that will make you wonder about him. It was a good read/listen and I felt much compassion for the author because of her experience. But also admiration for them because of what they attained.

Sad and degrading

I am embarrassed to admit that I slogged my way through this degradation. What depraved and disgusting lives these “glamorous“ people lead. The author presents herself as Florence Nightingale and a martyr. She was as unhealthy as the people about whom she writes. I will never be able to watch another movie in which Peter Lawford stars without being aware of what a miserable life he lead. Blech!!!

Disappointing

Teased as a reveal all it reveals very little of substance regarding Lawford's life with the Kennedys or Monroe. It mainly tries to romanticize lives lived in self centered abandon.

If you are fan of the stat pack or just curious

It’s a decent book. The telling of his life is so intermingled with all main points of history- that you get a whole lot more than expected.
You can use Rat Pack Confidential book as a reference point to some of senecios being told by his 3rd wife, Patricia in this book

Not as bad as everyone makes it out to be

The narrorator sounds like Pat Lawford so its not the worst voice. Ther reality is his life is being told by his 4th wife, a child bride of sorts, in a sordid tale of who this man Peter Lawford was. He was a mentally ill man with severe addiction issues ultimately leading to his demise. The company he kept was just as bad. His 4th wife tries to make the book about her on several occasions -- maybe just filler bc she didn't have enough to write about her husband?

Interesting information, but very disjointed.

I thought the story was okay, but very disjointed and not very organized. Didn't really have a lot of information about the rat pack years.

A Rat Pack Fan will love this!

Peter Lawford had an amazing life. The narration was good, but a bit monotone and could have used a little more feeling and animation to it. Overall it’s a fun story to listen to.
