Publisher's Summary

The entire Perseid Collapse series in one box set: post-apocalyptic thriller action and suspense in four books!

The Perseid Collapse (Book 1)

On August 19, 2019, an inconceivable attack against America's infrastructure will unleash a human darkness over the United States - with a vast appetite for chaos and violence. Alex Fletcher, former Marine, will wake to this brutally hostile landscape, thrown headfirst into an epic, impossibly grueling journey to save his family and friends.

Event Horizon (Book 2)

With Boston collapsing faster than Alex Fletcher predicted, his personal rescue mission deep into the heart of an increasingly unfamiliar city reaches a critical point. Pursued by a ruthless militia group and forced to navigate a treacherous landscape, he runs a gauntlet of grim decisions and impossible odds to reach perceived safety. Perceived, because nothing is safe in the world emerging after the "event".

Point of Crisis (Book 3)

In the aftermath of the brutal attack on his family compound, Alex Fletcher embraces his rapidly expanding role within the New England Regional Recovery Zone (RRZ). Fueled by a limitless drive to protect his family and a rekindled sense of duty, he enlists the reluctant aid of a local militia commander. As Captain Fletcher digs deeper into the government's plans, he starts to question the federal government's intentions - and ability to stabilize the situation in New England.

Dispatches (Book 4)

With the United States crippled, belligerent powers rise to fill the void overseas, catapulting already volatile regions into chaos and war - hastening a worldwide collapse. As spring arrives, Alex Fletcher faces a difficult choice. With their food supplies running low, Alex questions the feasibility of staying with the Thorntons and Walkers at their isolated lake community.

Worth the money

I wasn’t sure at first if I would get into the story. But there was enough twists and turns to keep me on my toes. There were some aspects of the story I would have changed. But I can’t mention them here without being a spoiler. The narrator was excellent. Made it very easy to listen to. Overall, I’m glad I bought it. It was worth every penny.

More of a Conspiracy series.

I kept thinking there would be more meat, more how to. The last of the series just kinda got lost wandering around on different plots.

Narration very boring....

What disappointed you about The Perseid Collapse Series Boxset?

I only got to chapter 4 and couldn't listen any more. The narrator's voice was not interesting, and my mind kept wandering. I had to keep replaying to understand what he was talking about. It's probably a very good story, just couldn't get through the narration. Had to exchange for something else.

How could the performance have been better?

Different narrator, or more interestingly flux of voice maybe?

Any additional comments?

Should have listened to the preview...if I'm paying for it, I want to actually enjoy it.

Cannot stand this narrator's female voice.

I am sadly not going to be able to finish this series by audio book. I may purchase the kindle version because I am now drawn into the story. I made it partway through the first of the 4 books before I finally gave up. This narrator's switch to a female character's voice is sooo irritating. He has this simpering, ultra female, soft , lisping, idiot voice that he uses for all of them that drives me nuts. I found I actually wouldn't even hear parts of the story because my brain auto-tuned out the female character's paragraphs. Imagine EVERY female character says But WHY (in a soft lisping idiot voice) do we need guns? do we need guns? hahahaha. Yes some of the characters written by the author should be foolish, but the VOICE he uses on them makes it so grating. I'm quitting and wish I could get my credit back.

Captivating

Listening, was not sure if Alex’ nemesis was Eli Russell, or Peter Griffin from Family Guy. Jk. Interesting twist on a common scenario. Very enjoyable. I will probably buy the Jakarta Pandemic as well.

Good but...

Good but a bit of a struggle to get through. Glad I did, but maybe doing all 4 books back to back was a bit too much. BUT! Looking back on it, I did enjoy it. That being said, of course the guy is an ex-military prepper...

Inconsistent

Few inconsistent facts or contradictions of previous parts of the book. Hated the way the author repeatedly expanded acronyms that had previously been explained, or the way he over explained relationships of characters that had previously been introduced, for example during the fire fight at the Alex's parents house, Tim flecture was still mentioned by name followed by Alex's Dad even though we had been told this several times. It got very old quickly.

Wouldn't read this author again.

Good value post apocalyptic

Wish I had of read the Pandemic book first so I didn’t keep getting reminded about what I missed. This was great value and lots of fun. Is it a recruiting tool for the American marines or was it just a lesson in loyalty to the constitution and the dangers of homeland security? As an Aussie, I took it for what I wanted, a fun read!
