Virtual voice is hard to listen to sometimes, but the story itself was enjoyable very heartfelt without it being too mushy

Repetition

It was just a lot of repetition. It was a good story, but the only problem was it just can’t repeating things that were happening over and over. It was just too much and it was getting very annoying.

AI reading abdominal; when you have a good story, get a good narrator!

I ended up reading the book when I got too irritated by the AI narrator. There are decent—maybe I should say, tolerable—AI narrators, but this is not one of them. Honestly? Great story. Get the book.

Story was fine; virtual voice was terrible

When I started this book, I didn’t see that it was being read by a virtual voice. The story itself was fine but I kept getting distracted by the woodenness of the reader. No emotion at all and I was rather appalled. I kept thinking, who would have approved this reader?? After looking again at the book info and reviews I saw that it wasn’t a human reader, which explained at lot. Unfortunately, the virtual voice distracted too much from the story and I had trouble engaging. It’s not the story’s fault; it was the reader’s fault.

God’s plan

This is a wonderful story of just how God’s plan comes to fruition not matter how the enemy tries to stop it. It’s a story of just how true the scripture is that the power of life and death is in the tongue.

I was totally engrossed in this story of forgiveness and redemption and look forward to more by this author.

Timeless story

Started listening on a 4 mile walk & couldn’t stop until it was finished. Love the era of the story & the characters. Reputation was everything in those times & scandal to be avoided at all costs. Didn’t want it to end. The family was successful but obviously was not in the same sphere as the Vanderbilts & Astors of that time. Never read a book where the messes & odors created by the horses in the city was brought to light. Anyway would love a story built around Cedric.
AI voice was ok. Have listened to many AI voices lately & some are a bit trying.

A sweet book to read with suspense that made me want to come back for more.

About Artificial Narrators

This might be a great read. However, the wooden presentation (as mentioned by another reviewer) caused me to return to the listing details to find out who the narrator was. Turns out it is a code and not a human. I suspect that, in time, they (AI readers) will be good. That will be a sad day when that happens. But for the moment, I found the poor quality of the narration on "The Perfect Stranger" to essentially distract me from the story (hence my 3 star rating on the story) and also to eliminate my interest in finishing this book, AND, I'll be sure to check this detail before ordering any future books. I've been an Audible customer for many years.
