An actual thriller!
It wasn't perfect, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Even though I had an idea where things were heading, the twists and turns were still exciting and disturbing. Very creepy, highly recommend.

Phenomenal!
I finished this in a day. I couldn’t stop listening!! I’m a heavy consumer of true crime as well as thriller/mystery books and this kept me guessing til the end. Absolutely loved it! Well written and the narration was top notch.

This book was so interesting, I had it finished in a day and a half! I couldn’t stop listening. Narration was perfect, loved Benjamin’s creepy voice, perfect fit and all this involved. I did not get the twist until it happened! Well done, bravo! Thank you!!!

Wow.. Creepy all around!
Wow.. what the F did I just read?
Slow start but it def picks up. Especially in the second part of the book. If this was made into a movie or TV series I would definitely have a hard time watching it because I do not like scary or gory and this book def brought it in terms of those elements. Crazy story!! I will need some time to mentally recover from this one.
I also think Shakira did a good job narrating the story and differentiating voices between the characters.

Just WOW!!!!
If I could give this more than a five star rating I would. I did figure out how it would end pretty early in the story but it didn’t take anything away from me. If this were my first listen by this author I may not have guessed it. But I’ve learned to expect the unexpected. There were little side twists that surprises me but nailed it with the big one. But it kept me on the edge of my seat and had to listen from beginning to end without stopping. Brava Keri Beevis 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 you really outdid yourself. This was brilliant

Just blah-blah-blah from “The People Next Door”
One of the worst audiobooks ever. And I used a cherished credit! OMG! “Never judge a book by its cover”… and this is one reason why. Immediately, the artwork had me hooked and I bought it. I really wanted to like it. Though author Keri Beevis tries for creepy and mysterious, the banal story moved at an extremely slow pace and seemed to jump quickly to the end of a chapter, skimming over details, making me wonder, “What the hell just happened?” Immediately, I knew the culprit - it was hardly a secret. Narration by Shakira Shute was disappointing, slowly read with poor tonal inflections. I couldn’t wait until it was over; I started fast-forwarding chapter by chapter and I just didn’t care anymore..
