About this listen

A handbook containing information of interest to gay men who want to know what paganism and Wicca are, how these traditions speak specifically to them and how to go about beginning to explore pagan spirituality as a rewarding spiritual path. The Path of the Green Man is composed of two parts, arranged in alternating chapters. The first part is a basic primer on paganism and Wicca, on spiritual practice and beginning to play with the tools of spirituality. The second part puts all of this information to use in a practical guide to living the pagan year.

Good for gay men wondering about paganism/witchcraft/Wicca

The narrator is pretty good and the writing is enjoyable to hear. Think of this as a starter to examining how being a gay man interacts with the Wicca belief system and shapes a spirituality based in pagan/Wiccan beliefs that is inclusive, rather than exclusive, for gay men.

An interesting look at pagan spirituality.

This was a very pleasant read, it was nice to hear about modern pagan spiritualism from a gay man's point of view and about a spiritual path that works for many gay men.

Introductory

Conceptual rather than practical, but a nice intro to these ideas for those unfamiliar with the old ways.

Loved it!

this book held everything I was looking for and much I didn't expect. I particularly enjoyed the stories of the sabbats. it was comforting to feel the author walking through his own spiritual exploration. this book had me at the green man's gift to the horned god.. and of course again at the entrance of Pan. ^_^

Didn’t know I needed this.

I’ve been pagan for the majority of my adult life but never really felt like I fit in to most of the common narrative. This most related to the narrative of the wheel of the year and a focus on procreation. This book is a breath of fresh air in that regard. The is a queer cemetery narrative of the wheel of the year which is (and pardon my pun but) magical. If you are queer and pagan of any sort this is a must read. Heck even if you aren’t queer you should pick it up because this is a perspective that could really open your eyes.

Not finished yet but need to give it 5 stars.

I'm only 2 Chapters in and I feel I need to give it 5 stars. There is something raw and honest about this book. I needed to be written. If you have been readying about Wicca for a few years then it's a great book to listen too.

Journey Down the Path of the Green Man

One often associates witches and women with Wicca and Paganism, but where do gay men fit into this ancient tradition?

It turns out that there is a long history of gay men in Wicca, and there is a deep well of meaning to be found.

A combination primer on Pagan spirituality and practice, and how it relates to gay men, and account of Ford's own personal journey, The Path of the Green Man is a keeper for anyone wanting to deepen their understanding of Wicca.
