Publisher's summary

Jess Carter only wants to finish out her senior year of high school. No friends, no boyfriends, and definitely not an insanely hot, overprotective guy who might possibly be her mate. No thanks. She only came to the tiny town of Banks, Idaho, to make sure her dad doesn't do anything too crazy. Like buy the local motel where you pay by the hour.

Dangerous stalkers and a group of students known as the Pack are the opposite of what she plans on, but that doesn't change the fact that she has zero intentions of getting involved. At all. Period. End of story. Except, the stalkers are after her; the insanely hot guy is one of the high school coaches; and the Pack...well, let's just say the name suits them.

With nowhere else to turn, Jess must rely on the Pack to protect her, but in doing so, she becomes caught up in a brewing war over territory and power. One that may cost her everything.

Contains mature themes.

entertaining

I took one star off only because I didn't like the relationship between the main characters. The rest of the relationships were great, great characters, nice story.

young love

This book is excellent for young romance readers but has some romance and action to keep the interest for adult readers. Can not wait to continue to see the remaining story line.

New beginnings

Starting a new life with her father brings new challenges for Jess. She did not know about shifters and her role in strengthening the pack.

It was good

My 1st wolf/shifter story.
It was a little slow, not necessarily world building.
Dominic (mmc): teacher, coach, brother, son, brooding, gorgeous & wolf.

Jess (FMC), high school senior, 18, new student, daughter, girl with a vision for her future, only child.

Jess moves to a new state to be with her dad. From private school to public school. Jess runs into a brooding teacher just out of the office attempting to find her way to class.

At lunch people seem to want to be her friend, yet she’s spoke to no other students. She has many invites from the table known to everyone else as “The Pack”. She declines since the tall, handsome & muscular teacher she ran into is sitting with these students.

By the end of the day “the pack” has offered to walk her home. Since no one else is around to walk with, she agrees. They walk through the forest since the highway has a reputation for abductions. Jess thinks they’re pranking her & ignores this warning the next day. Until she was nearly abducted. Jess runs into the forest to loose the people chasing her but they keep chasing her even into the forest. After screaming for help it feels like Dominic is there immediately.

Tropes:
Age gap
Shifters/fantasy
YA romance

Great Story, loved it!

This book kind of gave me a Twilight vibe with a twist. I really enjoyed the story and didn't want it to end! Thankfully, the story continues in book 2. I am very excited to get started on it as I am now invested in "The Pack" living in Banks, Idaho.

Good PNR

I like this story and thought it would be a little more adult because the summary said it contained mature content. The content was definetly somewhat graphic due to wolf fighting but there was no adult scenes if you know what I mean. It is more of a teen or young adult story. I still really enjoyed the story and cannot wait to see what happens in book 2!
