Publisher's Summary

Trapped in his tiny mountain cabin, she didn't expect to fall for his big heart.

Exposing a prominent criminal family with an investigative news report didn't exactly work out the way Sabrina had hoped. Instead of basking in the glory of her article's success, she's on the run from a powerful man who wants her dead. To stay safe, she's forced to trade one bad situation for another. Stuck in the Montana wilderness, she's secluded from anything resembling civilization or the modern-day world. The only good thing about her situation is the gorgeous mountain man assigned to protect her. Too bad he isn't the slightest bit interested in a city girl like her.

Beau likes his life quiet and simple. Give him a peaceful day hiking in the woods with his dog, and he's a happy man. He has no use for large crowds, noisy cities, or dramatic women. So when a hotshot reporter rolls into town, dragging her big-time problems with her, he should have run for the hills. Instead, he volunteered to keep her safe. Bringing her into his world won't be easy, but if he can convince her that Montana isn't as terrifying as she believes, they might just be the perfect match.

The Outpost

I liked the story of Beau & Sabrina, I feel like he was there just when Sabrina needed someone like him.

Beau was the hero of this story for me; he was why I keep on listening. I liked Sabrina but she took more time for me to enjoy.

Mountain man & the city girl it works and getting the city girl to find and appreciate the outdoors is sweet and totally romance worthy.

I enjoyed the narration! Aiden Snow is delicious and well Ava Erickson is fabulous.

The Outpost

This was definitely my favorite Devney Perry book to read, so I was so excited to get to listen to Sabrina and Beau come to life! I was not even a little disappointed in Ava Erickson's and Aidan Snow's portrayal of these two characters.
The plot of The Outpost was so well-written, and the characters well-developed. I highly recommend this audio!

Not Too Bad...

Overall, the story wasn't bad. I like the male lead- he's very rugged and handsome sounding. I wouldn't have minded the female lead except she's a journalist and comes off as completely helpless and shallow!!!! If she's writing such hard hitting news pieces then she would've known from the get go the trouble she was going to be getting into. And for being a journalist, she would've had to have some knowledge of the outdoors for gosh sakes! I don't know of too many writers who wouldn't toughen up over time and learn all sorts of skills needed in their field. And to be so shallow about labels and names and shoes and clothes- just not very realistic. Otherwise, I didn't mind listening to Bo's story.

Delicious slow burn

I love Devney Perry's writing. It seems effortless yet has carefully created ebb and flow to each story. This one does not disappoint. The heroine is bold, fearless, and sometimes brash. Her hero is a protector by profession, so he can make her feel safe.

"A woman could tell a lot by the way a man holds her. She could tell if he had the strength to endure the rougher moments. If he had a mighty yet kind heart. If he could make her feel safe and cherished. Beau’s embrace said all that and more."

The chemistry is off the charts. And the slow burn of the angst was delectable. I loved the incorporation of writing a novel into this story. And I fell in love with Beau. Such a good story!

Love this series

Devney Perry is now on my top 5 Favorite Author, Love Love this series so far, fixing to listen to the last book in the series “The Bitterroot Inn” and can’t wait to find out how this character meets her man. She so deserves someone good, I’ve liked her since the first book in this series and can’t wait to listen to this last one. Love the narrators in this whole series Ava Erickson as A.L. the females and Joe Arden and Aiden Snow as the males, always been an Arden fan but when The author described Beau in all these books, Aiden Snow’s voice nailed his character... made it come to life. Thanks to everyone involved in these books. Love ❤️ them all!

Sweet Romance with a hint of Danger

The Outpost is book 4 in the Jamison Valley Series, but can definitely be read as a standalone. The Outpost is a sweet, emotional romance but with enough danger to get a heart racing .

“No man would ever hold me this well. I was made to be wrapped in these arms.”

I love this book and this series. Each one just gets better and better. I’ve been waiting to read each as it is released on audiobook and I’ve not been disappointed with the wait. Great narration! But I’m not sure if I can wait before starting The Bitterroot Inn, I really, really want to see Maisey get her story!!

Dull

How a book with these narrators can be so dull is an exasperating question. After 1hr 32 mins of nothing, I gave up.

There is no humour or clever banter, no sign of a budding relationship for this "city girl" high flyer reporter and the "wilderness man".

DISAPPOINTING
