Publisher's summary

Trapped in his tiny mountain cabin, she didn't expect to fall for his big heart.

Exposing a prominent criminal family with an investigative news report didn't exactly work out the way Sabrina had hoped. Instead of basking in the glory of her article's success, she's on the run from a powerful man who wants her dead. To stay safe, she's forced to trade one bad situation for another. Stuck in the Montana wilderness, she's secluded from anything resembling civilization or the modern-day world. The only good thing about her situation is the gorgeous mountain man assigned to protect her. Too bad he isn't the slightest bit interested in a city girl like her.

Beau likes his life quiet and simple. Give him a peaceful day hiking in the woods with his dog, and he's a happy man. He has no use for large crowds, noisy cities, or dramatic women. So when a hotshot reporter rolls into town, dragging her big-time problems with her, he should have run for the hills. Instead, he volunteered to keep her safe. Bringing her into his world won't be easy, but if he can convince her that Montana isn't as terrifying as she believes, they might just be the perfect match.

This is such a great series!

This story is so sweet and refreshing. It’s not insta-love but a nice slow (but not too slow) burn. It was plenty steamy too. If you’ve read and loved the previous books in the series and then you’ll love this story too.
Narration was top notch although I wish there had been more Aiden Snow as he had only a few chapters throughout the book. However Ava Erickson was great!

quick to the point works for me

i enjoy the fact that most times this book gets right to what the characters need to say. there is no overly and unnecessary slow burn to get to the point and i appreciate that.

Beau was so unexpectedly swoony...

I listened to the audio version of this story and I think it is now my second favourite of the series, after The Coppersmith Farmhouse.

Sabrina has got herself into a bit of a pickle. She immersed herself into a family she was doing an investigative journalist piece on and now her life is in danger. She flees to Montana to see her best friend Felicity, after being attacked and in fear for her life. However, as good as it is to see her bestie, she knows that she could potentially be bringing danger to her door.

Then all those hunky alpha men from the other books in this series (Jess, NIck & Silas) decide she needs to hide away at the Outpost. Beau agrees to set her up out there and keep an eye on her over winter. Once the case she was involved with goes to trial she will be able to return home but laying low for a few months will keep her out of harm’s way.

At first, living at the Outpost feels very primitive and after Beau leaves her to her own devices, lonely. She does have the lovely fur company of Boone, Beau’s dog which gives her a sense of security. However, over time she finds herself craving the company of the sexy mountain man Beau.

Beau’s visits to the Outpost seem to be more frequent than they were in the beginning and they have gone from a sense of duty to him genuinely wanting to spend time with Sabrina (who he nicknames shortcake). Feelings have grown between them and he feels very protective of her. When things move into a more intimate relationship, Beau is very aware that this is only temporary and once things are over in the court case, she will be returning home to the city. Away from Beau. Unless he can convince her that she belongs in Montana. With him… and Boone.

Beau was so unexpectedly swoony, he is the sort of guy who will wrap you up in his strong arms and make you feel safe. Which is exactly what Sabrina needs in her life. I loved being back in the Jamison Valley and enjoyed little snippets from the characters of previous books.

Swoon worthy

Every time I read a new Jamison Valley book, I think ‘oh this is my new favorite’. I just can’t pick. These are all so dang good! The storyline is amazing, the narration is A+, I can’t say enough good things about this entire series!

My favorite!

I have enjoyed all the stories so far, but Beau & Sabrina are definitely my favorite!

Just enough suspense/intrigue to support the story but not lose focus on the relationship between the two main characters.

Opposites Attract

This book two people who are complete opposites attract. Their journey is a slow burn as they both try to be practical knowing not to start something since they both belong in very different worlds. But their chemistry when they give in is explosive and something they can’t ignore once they give in. The push and pull between Beau and Sabrina adds so much to the story and is there through the whole book. I loved Beau and Sabrina so much. Their journey showed just how far and how much one will do for love.
