Publisher's summary

A boy with no hope, A world without music. The Oscillator will change everything.

In a silent and broken world, where kindness, compassion, and the Earth’s ozone layer is all but gone, Theos' stammer is just one more challenge he has to deal with.

He’d very much like to make a name for himself, or even just make it home in one piece, but his trembling hands don’t exactly say "Super Power".

That is until he’s gifted a little gray box that changes everything. Now he can stand up for himself, take care of his enemies, and get the girl.

However, revenge isn’t always that sweet....

HIGHLY ENJOYABLE READ/LISTEN

My first highly enjoyable read/listen from author JK Neve. Since I own both the Kindle & Audible editions narrator Todd Waite’s talented narration adds to the book’s enjoyment as I followed along while being read to. I was given an Audible copy of this book & am voluntarily reviewing it. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).

Stayed Up Late Listening!

I enjoyed the story - always glad to pull for an underdog that makes good....but what exactly is making good in a world without music? Remember navigating the intricate socializing in high school? How could you get that girl's attention?

The talented narrator's vocal skills and character transitions hooked me, and I listened longer than intended because I enjoyed them - and you will too!

Highly recommended!

Surprisingly good!

I enjoyed this title more than I expected to! It is a great dystopian YA story set in a world without music and a protagonist with a stutter. Todd Waites does an amazing job with the narration and the character development and world building by JK Neve are great. I highly recommend this story!

Surprisingly good

So, this is a dystopian young adult, origin's story kind of book, and to be honest, if I had known that beforehand, I wouldn't have picked it.

BUT!

It was really good. Entertaining, a classic underdog protagonist who suddenly has the means to get his revenge, a cast of bullies and a perfect girl who wasn't so perfect... I really enjoyed it.

And the narration was really good, too.

Very enjoyable

First of all... Todd Waites voice is awesome and perfect for this kind of title... if you havnt listened to him before, think Fred Berman meets Kyle McCarley. Clean, Crisp and a real story teller that draws you in... the story was very good, but felt a bit rushed at points... that said, not a big deal at all and 5 stars overall for sure... worth the coin or the credit...
