Publisher's summary

I've sworn off men.

All men.

Famous last words, right? You're expecting some epic tale of reluctant love and my dramatic change of heart? Well, you're not going to get it.

I'm stubborn. And headstrong. And I've just survived the worst three years of my life. After escaping an abusive boyfriend to live in hostels and cheap hotels while I worked my way across Europe, I've come to two conclusions. The first? Now that I'm back home, I'm going to squander my expensive culinary degree on a food truck that caters to the late night drunk crowd. The second? I'm going to prove to the bastard across the plaza that my street food is better than his fussy five course monstrosities.

Killian Quinn might be Food and Wine's Chef to Watch Out For. He might have a Michelin Star. He might have every food critic in the city wrapped around his too-large fingers. But he's also pretentious and unbearably arrogant and the very opposite of me.

So he can keep his unsolicited advice and his late night visits and his cocky smiles. I want none of it. Or him.

I want the opposite.

Contains mature themes.

Just Ok

This book was just ok. It’s a sweet romance but has too much attention to details that aren’t really relevant for the story. But the overall story is sweet.

3.5 stars

This book started out being exactly what I needed, something funny and light. I loved the characters, the food, the banter. But about half way though, the couple got together and an ex showed up which led to more sweet than fun, and more serious instead of light. It was still good, the writing and narration were great. It just became a different feel than what I thought I was getting.

Great Story!

I loved the push and pull of the lead characters and all the cool details involved in being a good chef. The characters were extremely likable. I really appreciated the growth curve and healing the character experienced as well. I love this author!

Enemies to lovers romance. 1POV. HEA. Standalone.

If you can’t handle the heat, then don’t read this book! 🔥 Get it? This book is about two chefs. See what I did there? I substituted “kitchen” for “chef”? .... yeah... I’m clever. 😉

Anyhow...
This is a Seductive, enemies to lovers romance with a touch of an obsessive ex boyfriend. There is a bit of a slow burn between the two mains and it’s pretty satisfying. There is a bit too much inner dialogue but overall, It’s a pretty good book!

Narration was pretty good as well.
The HEA isn’t too in-depth but it is cute. I’m assuming there will be more books 📚. The series, focused on other characters.

It was very realistic.

I appreciated that it speaks to women making their lives safe. Sometimes we have to be reminded it’s allowed.

A deliciously sexy romance!

Rachel Higginson is my spirit animal. Her work is just incredible. And this novel is no less a masterpiece than her other works.

I loved Vera's and Killian's story. All she wants to do is make a name for herself in the culinary world. All Killian wants is to run his kitchen the way he wants and without and distractions - like Vera and her food truck.

"You keep saying words like crazy and insane and risky, but Vera, the best things in life are all of those things. You can't reap big rewards if you don't take big risks."

The chemistry between these two was intense. But it wasn't just the heat between these two that made me drool, the food showcased throughout this story made me want to be near Foodie the food truck!!

super cute and sweet

I would absolutely suggest this if you like a non angsty HEA, This was a super cute story. its very sweet and funny but know If your looking for hot and steamy this wont be for you. The interaction between the characters is fun and flirty and a cute slow burn with lots of laughter. The Narrator was ok. I wasn't fond of her male voices as they all sounded the same and not manly at all.

I didnt think I'd enjoy this as much as I did.

I didnt think I'd enjoy this as much as I did. this book really surprised me with how good it was. definitely a slow burn romance and i feel like i wanted more but then there are follow up novels with supporting characters so that makes me happy because im sure these two will be making an appearance.

Love story

A typical break up and find new love story, between two chefs. Warm and fun, even if plot is uncomplicated.
