An Anti-Climactic Meandering

I thoroughly enjoyed Helen Keeley's performance throughout and the story was mostly entertaining right up until the solution to the mystery was dropped on us. Ugh, after all that the ending felt so lazy and anticlimactic, and ultimately left the story feeling like a banal waste of time.

We're back in Whitecliff Bay

This book is set 6 months after The One Who Fell and this time Millie and Guy are asked to look into the abduction of Millie's friend, Nicola, some 20 years ago. At the time it was Millie who found Nicola tied to a tree and Nicola begs her never to speak of it again. Until now. A secondary case involves a dilapidated house full of squatters.

This is the second book in the Whitecliff Bay Mystery series. I feel it is faster paced than the previous book and it hooked me in right away. I enjoyed not only the mystery but also Millie's personal life. We didn't learn much more about her parents suicides this time, but her ex-husband, Alex, continues to cause problems for Millie regarding her son. I'm really, really hoping his big secret comes out very soon! Can't wait to read Book 3.

I love Kerry Wilkinson’s books , especially the Andrew Hunter series which I wish he had written more of. This new series is interesting , I’ve listened to the first 2 and have the third down loaded. I wonder why they were all released at once ?
Milly is an interesting character,however,we are not sure if she committed a terrible crime or is totally innocent. There is a great cast of characters and friends , although after this book I use that term loosely as “with friends like these who needs enemies” springs to mind .
She is solving puzzles with an ex newspaper reporter and trying to get custody of her son back from two very obnoxious people , her ex and his soon to be new wife. Poor Milly ? Not sure have to keep listening .
Narration is perfect !
