Somewhere on a far-off planet, a once robust civilization was ending. This planet was Altus and its inhabitants were destroying the very world that kept them alive for thousands of years. The planet warned them about its health many, many times. Yet, the people ignored these warnings. A select few of Altus’ inhabitants realized that the end of the planet was imminent and their remaining days were numbered. These Elders got together and devised a plan to allow their race to continue. They constructed a large vessel, loaded it with young people, and sent the vessel into the heavens. This vessel was the Novum.
The Novum silently traveled through space, sending out probe after probe, as it searched for a new home. One probe discovered a distant planet much like the world from which they came. This planet orbited around a single star, had lots of life-giving oxygen, and was capable of sustaining life, as they knew it. This planet was Earth. The Novum set course for Earth and arrived many years later. The young people from the Novum established colonies on Earth and saved the Alturian race.
The Novum Chronicles documents this story.
